Another brilliant book by Kaylee Ryan. She has an absolute gift in the way she writes her heroes. Lucas is swoon worthy. I liked how he came across a bit cocky. But the more time he spent with Addyson he quickly became smitten. She became his everything and all he wanted was to have her in his life.
Which proved a little hard to begin with. Especially after you read about her past relationships you can see why she has taken herself out of the game, or as she calls it - benched. I really didn’t know whether I should laugh or cry when this happened.
I also liked reading the other little romance going on within the book. I thought it added a lot to the story as well.
I cannot wait to read Kaylee’s next fabulous story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I’ve kissed a lot of frogs, just to be covered in warts. I’ve been lied to, cheated on, and used more times than I can count. I don’t have it in me to keep going. I need a break from it all. I need time for the wounds to heal, and the scars to fade. Wouldn’t you know it’s my luck, to meet a gorgeous man, after declaring my self-imposed break? He’s charming, sexy, and determined to change my mind.
I wasn’t looking for her, but when I overheard her conversation, I had to add my two cents. Within minutes of talking to her, I knew she was unlike anyone I’d ever met. Bruised from past relationships, she’s built a fort around her heart. Doesn’t she know the prince always rescues the princess? I think about her all the time. The more I’m around her, the more I want to be. I’ve made my choice. It’s her. Now, all I have to do is prove to her that I’m the difference.

The Difference was a big huge bag of warm fuzzies and it actually was the perfect solution to my book slump. And the ideal lazy mothers day read. Even if I did still manage to find a few things to whinge about I knew it was mostly me just being a miserable bitch.
Kaylee is one of those authors that I kind of forget I love until I see her name pop up then I have a oh yeah moment and get super excited. So basically she turns me into a Labrador.
First off this book was two romances in one. We got the story of Addy and Luke as the main characters but we also got the side story of their besties which was super sweet and less drama than Addy.
Don't get me wrong I liked Addy but she was a bit of a drama queen who saw a catastrophe in every rain cloud. And I know she has been through her share of losers but she just went on and on about it and jumped to stupid conclusions about things.
Luke however was the perfect hero of the story and if I was him I would have run for the hills. But he didn't obviously and he was so caring and understanding and just flat out perfect I kinda was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
But having this written from both points of view made me love him more and understand Addy's fears a little bit. And I really did enjoy watching the side relationship unfold and I would have loved to get a little more of Luke's sister and nephew but maybe they will get their own book later. Please?
Anyway this was a solid 4 star read and I can't wait to see what Kaylee is going to write next.

This was an okay book. I have previously loved pretty much everything Kaylee’s written but this one fell a little flat for me. There are so many similarities here between most of her previous books. The guys are almost a carbon copy of each other, and so are the women.
What I would’ve liked to have seen was more of a friendship being built, of him pursuing that rather than relentlessly pursuing her for a relationship she clearly wasn’t ready for.
I also felt this book was not really well thought out. There was so much information at the start about Addy’s previous boyfriends it was confusing, then details we should know, like occupations, physical descriptions, even last names weren’t revealed until well into the book, just kind of chucked in there.
This whole book was a little disappointing and fell flat for me, sorry.

Loved the chemistry between Lucas and Addison . I laughed from the beginning of this book my my her dates story they were so funny. I loved Justin and Harper too. Lucas was a dream lover he kept on pushing to show Addy that not all guys are the same that he was the difference. No angst in this book just a cute love story with a bit of sass

Loved it

I love Kaylee Ryan's books this one is no exception. I loved Lucas he knew what he wanted and nothing was going to stop him getting it not even Addy herself. Lucas is the perfect package caring loving protective. The begining of the book was so funny with Addy reliving her past relationships it made you see why she was so against any kind of relationship with Lucas but thank God he broke through her barriers he had the patients of a saint. If you love books with perfect relationships and no angst this book is for you. I loved it and couldn't put it down.

Can you love a book too much? I don't think so. Because I am so in love with Addy and Lucas. I sincerely loved these two. And this book was something special. I can always count on Kaylee Ryan to write a masterpiece. And she never disappoints. She always writes from the heart. And it shows in her writing. My favorite book of all time, out of all the 1400 books I've read., is Tempting Tatum.
I know that in Kaylee Ryan's works there is so much love. And the story evolves around that love. There's a small bit of drama thrown in for some dramatic effect. But it never overwhelms the story. The build up for whomever the couple is, to actually get together makes for a very frustrating reader. But it is absolutely worth the weight when it happens.
I am absolutely in love with this book. On so many different levels. It hit all the feels. It made you think. It left you with a full heart. It was undoubtedly one of the best books I've read. I literally can't praise it enough. Kaylee Ryan is one of my favorite authors. Her work is a guaranteed smile. And I know I'll be throughly entertained.
Small note- I cried like a big baby when Lucas says "I'm going to make love to you"

I wait, and wait, and wait as you post snippets and promote your newest book. And then the day finally arrives and I'm digging in to this book that I've been so impatiently waiting for. And once again I'm in love. I'm in love with Luke and his patient love for Addy. I'm in love with Addy and her willingness (eventually) to trust Luke. I'm even in love with Justin and Harper! Once again, Kaylee Ryan, you've touched my heart with your writing.

Okay this one might be a bit sappy but it's because of that, that I loved it. Addy reminds me of me. I've been down that road, had my car break down many times and hope that it works again only to walk away and decide I'd rather walk than drive.
She gives me hope that some day my "Lucas" will come. I love how he couldn't ignore her conversation and how that rant changed the lives of 4 people.
If you've loved and hurt or love the idea of love showing up when you are benched than you need to read Addy story because she gives hope that ice eventually melts and hurts lead to happy...IF YOU LET IT!!!!

A Great Story!
Reviewed in the United States on 2 June 2019Verified Purchase
The Difference by Ms. Ryan is like a modern day fairy tale of sorts. Addyson (Addy) has had a string of bad luck in the dating arena. Basically, she went out with a bunch of duds. She doesn't think she'll ever find her prince charming and decides she is taking a break. And, just when she least expected it.....her prince charming appears, Lucas. He made made her (and me) swoon from the start. But Addy is so burned from all those duds that she has walls built has tall as a Redwood Cedar Tree. But does he let that stop him?? No. He shows her what the others didn't......that she is worthy of love and being loved. He is patient, caring, attentive, and so loving. He gives her the space she needs which chips away at those walls she built. And we get a bonus story with their BFFs, Justin & Harper building their own relationship along with Addy & Lucas. Was the perfect lazy Saturday afternoon read.
