This work by an outstanding suspense writer takes us into the mind of a wife who has discovered that the love of her life, her extremely handsome and talented man, is likely to be an adulterer and murderer. She is faced with the dilemma of whether or not to turn him in to the Police or to take matters into her own hands in other ways. Whilst I found it challenging to sympathise with her, my attitude towards her gradually changed as I learned more about her tragic history. The plot is full of surprise twists and turns and totally absorbing. I had to read it quickly to find out what happens. Then the finale was for me very satisfying although at the same time sad. Julia Derek has shown me again why I am such a fan of her books. Her creative brilliance is astounding.

My first psychological thriller - and I really enjoyed itReviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 September 2018
First of all I am not going to go into details of the plot. Never having read a psychological thriller before I was not sure what to expect from this book. I must say that it was really well written. Of course, like so many books nowadays, there are lots of flashbacks, and sometimes it is difficult to know just what is happening, but that only adds to the enjoyment in the final pages as things are explained. Good read. Really enjoyed it.
Loved the storyReviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 January 2018
Loved the story, the writing style and all the twists in the tale. It's not what it seemed at the beginning, it's much better!!! I thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you, Julia Derek! Already reading your next book, and enjoying that too!

Started off goodReviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 November 2018
I have got to say I was disappointed in the way the story went.I was more intrigued by the way it was seeming to go .It was too far fetched and seemed like the story was made up as it went along unfortunately. And the constant flitting back to the past to make the future more believable was tiresome.
Fairly average yarnReviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 April 2020
The first few pages get your interest and make you want to continue reading just to see how it comes together in the end, even though you're pretty sure what's going on very early on in the book. Easy reading, but not inspiring enough for me to read another Julia Derek book.
Good storyReviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 June 2018
Good story. Full of suspense and intrigue. Nothing is as it seems. Quite a lot of twists and turns. Further into the book there is a chapter of different names and characters that I couldn't understand what relevance they had to the book but it makes sense in the end.
