About The Diarist

The Diarist is a serialized audio fiction podcast. In 15 episodes The Diarist immerses listeners into the 1950s world of Madiso Avenue Advertising and leads them through the bizarre and often frightening inner worlds of the characters. After completing Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, Andrea Davies takes a position at a large New York Advertising firm, admittedly there to find a husband and secure a life as a well-to-do, country club socialite.Andrea becomes increasingly drawn into her boss Richard Hayes' bizarre personal life. She begins to assume the role of his wife and mother of his young daughter. However, a parallel reality continues back at his apartment where his psychotic wife moves in and out of insanity. Things are not always as they seem in this neo-noir thriller. The Diarist, explores the darker side of the human psyche and the terrifying consequences of indulging in base desires.

★★★★★ The darkness within the human heart
in Apple Podcasts by EXOPLANETARY from USA on June 17, 2018
THE DIARIST is a frank and emotional look at the darkness within the human heart. Some have compared it to MAD MEN crossed with one of the classical romance novels like JANE EYRE or WUTHERING HEIGHTS. I don't think that goes far enough. It's a frank exploration of what happens when love becomes obsession. Richly drawn characters, performances that sparkle, and the voyeuristic thrill of learning someone's most intimate thoughts.

★★★★★ Mad (wo)Men with a Touch of Noir
in Apple Podcasts by Monkeywright from USA on May 7, 2018
I’m intrigued to follow the story! Excellent production values and an engaging cast. It feels like taking a time machine to peek into the secret lives of working people. Can’t wait to hear more!

★★★★★ Lynchian Mad Men
in Apple Podcasts by THMSRGRS from USA on May 7, 2018
It’s like a very modern radio serial. Not a regular noir throwback. This has twists and unique character arcs. Great cast of voice actors to. Great binge material.
