Product description

Product Description

"I didn't become a 20-million-euro-per-hit assassin overnight." Assassinations, false flag ops, conspiracy theories, New World Order, ISIS/ISIL, CIA, sex and humor infuse this offbeat thriller. Readers may even discover where Jimmy Hoffa's body might be hidden.

(Other than the Prologue, this third novel is written entirely in dialogue; no narrator.)

A sequel AND prequel to the first two novels in the series, with most of the characters who remain after the carnage of "Devlin's Defiance." (Oops. Was that a spoiler? Hmm. Not really -- well, mostly not really.)

Like those novels, parts of the story in this one are set in and around Bonita Springs, Florida, and the author continues to play with the boundaries between fiction, reality and more fiction (again, not much of a surprise). But in this one, not only does he "push the envelope," as the old saying goes, he gleefully leaps far beyond it.

And the reasons behind the author's use of a pseudonym may be revealed, in spite of his objections. (Hint: The CIA and/or NSA may be interested in this ... or perhaps not. After all, these novels ARE total fiction -- well, mostly.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Devlin SubRosa thrills, provokes and entertains, just as Devlin's first two books did! 7 December 2014
By MLH - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Jake Devlin's third book in his eventual quatrology (look for the fourth and final in the series to emerge next year) does more than continue the characters, plots and themes readers have come to love in his first two books ("The Devlin Deception" and "Devlin's Defiance".) It also continues the author's ongoing personal theme of excellence in writing. This book is written 100% in dialog--anyone who has ever tried to pull off that feat knows how difficult it is to do. Yet, Jake achieves it beautifully, with a cohesive story told, sans narration. His use of quirky characters, dialects, and dry humor adds lightness to underlying themes and plots that are far more serious. Espionage, assassinations, political philosophies and satire, romance: You name it--This book has it all. For me, this book also served to lend clarity to some of the more ambiguous aspects in the preceding two books. Character development is extensive, and there is more focus in this book on the personal lives of the characters, past, present...and perhaps future...ah, but to say any more along those lines would be to spoil the surprises for what I am certain will be a large readership. Word to the wise (to quote Gordon Donne, a principal character): Start at the beginning. Read the first two books, in sequence, then continue on to read this gem...and, while waiting for book #4 to emerge, you might want to take a look at Devlin's "257 Ways to Fix the USA," which provides in succinct form the policies proposed by Gordon Donne in book #1, "The Devlin Deception."
