Book 2 in the Deep Six series follows the same formula the author used in the as the first book and in her Black Knights Inc series. We get the point of view of Bran and Maddy, our hero and heroine, Mason and Alex the couple who will be the subject of the next book, and of the bad guys. It is a formula that is familiar and I love it. It works.
There were lots of things I really liked about Devil and the Deep. The way Bran and Maddy keep referencing movies, their chemistry, how Bran tries to convince himself he doesn't feel about her the way he does, the way Maddy is so brave in the face of danger and in going after Bran. The action in the story very well done and there is one particular scene involving swimming I found scary in that I wanna cover my eyes and not look kinda way.
I confess my favourite part of the story were the scenes between Mason and Alex. I love the way she never stops talking and that be barely talks at all. They are fun. Their story is going to be worth the wait.
