She's on the run...into the arms of forbidden love.

On the surface, Cody Hawthorne is warm, witty, and fun, but beneath his carefree facade, Heather sees a real man struggling to break free. Day by day, Heather and Cody grow closer and closer, unable to resist their simmering passion — while day by day, a serial murderer closes in on his prey. What a great read. Loved this couple.
It was great to see Cody coming of age in this book, he needed his story told and Heather was the perfect woman for him.
Cody is Ty’s younger brother and has been ignored by his father as he was not the heir.
He spent his time doing little work and womanising a lot. He decides to change his life for himself and then Heather arrives. A human who is off limits, yeah, tell that to his wolf.
He is also helping the law track what is happening when bodies start turning up drained of blood. When he pieces it together that Heather is the target all bets are off.
Heather is running from the evil that killed her friend but cannot tell anyone because they would think she was crazy. She takes on the temporary teaching post at the ranch which gives her time to breath and think through what she will do next.
Heather is drawn to Cody but keeps hearing about his womanising and seeing him with different women all over the place, usually innocently. As she spends time with him she sees the man he wants to be.
She has enough on her plate as it is without dealing with him.
Fate has other ideas and when the vampires catch up with Heather, Cody will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Even defy his father. Unfortunately to save Heather he has to bring forth his wolf which pushes Heather to run away as her mind is on overload. Vampires, now wolf shifters. Just too much to cope with.
What happens when Heather returns to the ranch?
A lovely enjoyable read. I just wish we could get rid of that horrible father.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the pack Lothario. I mean everything we’ve seen from Cody so far says he’s got a devil may care, love ‘em and leave ‘em attitude. He’s never too serious and never too far from getting his groove on with everything in a skirt. But what if the pack Lothario is tired of the facade he’s built? What if he just wants people to take him serious and see the real him underneath the facade? What if he wants the promise of a fated mate like his brother Ty has found? But fate isn’t being nice when she dishes up temptation in the very human, Heather. She’s temptation personified and totally forbidden. She’s also running scared and wary of all of his advances. Ms. Heather is going to take a bit of wooing. Something he’ll have to fit in around his search for a serial killer… one that all indications say might be a vampire. He’ll also have to keep his wooing out of the limelight… after all mating a human is forbidden and there is no way his father is going to accept his choice in a mate.

Heather is on the run. A night out on the town with her girlfriend Cathy ended in tragedy. Cathy is dead and Heather is running from the very real threat of vampires. Having just barely escaped her first encounter, Heather is staying one step ahead of the pursuing vampires. At the end of her finances and needing to recoup a bit, she stops in a small town in Arizona and takes a teaching job out at the Twin Moons Ranch. After her very harrowing experience she’s just a bit wary of all men… but there is just something about Cody that calls to her. And while at first you might suspect that Heather is a bit timid nothing could be further from the truth.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I just finished reading 'Desert Blood'... I really loved being back in the lives of the Were's of Twin Moon Ranch. Once I started reading, I couldn't stop & I was at the end of the book & wanting more. I do advise that you read book 1 & novella 1.5 'Desert Moon' & 'Desert Wolf' of "The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch" first, as they are in chronological order. Although each main book is for a different main character, all characters interweave in each book.

Heather hasn't stopped driving since that fateful night the paranormal came into her life, but something about the Arizonia desert feels safe to her. Everything inside tells her to stop & recoup for a bit. Cody has lived his life playing a part, not being his true self, being the playboy... ladies man... but he's getting tired of it. Seeing his brother Ty with his mate Lana, makes Cody see what he's missing. Something about Heather draws him to her.

I loved how Anna has brought her characters together... again, they feel so alive & vivid... I could almost touch them. I loved reading the relationship changes within the siblings, now that Ty is mated. The growth that Cody does within this book is epic, as well as Heather's growth, I think they needed one-another to heal. Thank you Anna for an enthralling read, I can't wait for book 3's release. I need more of "The Wolves of Twin Moon Ranch"!!

Goodness I love this series, we go back to Twin Moon Ranch with Ty and Lana let's not forget Tana. Of course we've got the cranky old Alpha that brow beats everyone because he's the Alpha, problem is it's the old ways he wants nothing new, Ty's waiting for him to retire until then his word is law.
Heather Luth was running for her life she's been running from her home in Pittsburgh, going west for several states now, she had to keep running she didn't know if they were following her, those monsters try to kill her,
you're not going to believe what she saw in fact if she told anybody they probably put her in an insane asylum. In Arizona she kept thinking maybe I can stop here she was exhausted and her poor the little dusty orange VW , Heather stopped in a little town. Now she needed a job, where was she going to get a teaching job in the middle of nowhere?
Cody Hawthorne kept looking at her she was human he was a wolfshifter no way would his Pack and his father the Alpha except her. Then the Alpha sent Cody with Kyle to check out some killing that happened. They both went to the coroner to see the body, trying to see if they could find something, if they can smell something, if there was any kind of clue of who is doing these killings. The body had many knife wounds, and then they smelled it and they knew what it was there was, there was more than one there were several. I was gifted this ARC for an honest and truthful review

I already had this book before reading and reviewing the others and despite the delay in getting to this one, I still loved it and the characters I have grown to love reading about. Their journey to their mates and the events that unfold around them all.

We still read a little of Ty and Lana but this story is essentially about Cody finding his true mate and the fact she is human and not approved off by their Alpha; his father.

Heather has fled her old life after a bad night out, discovering Vampires before her best friend ends up dead. A nasty Vampire has it in for her after she managed to escape his advances the night her best buddy was killed.

She ends up taking on the temporary position of Teacher where she meets Cody. Each is drawn to the other despite Cody’s fathers views on mating humans. It is had for both to resist and soon they allow the pull to claim them. Heather is still scared and wants only a lust filled relationship, until she has to move on.

Cody has other ideas. He has also teamed up with Kyle as they are worried about Vampires in their part of the country. He’s also worried as the victims have an uncanny resemblance to Heather.

The past does finally catch up with Heather and it’s Cody and the wolves who intervene. There are still a few hurdles to overcome for her, before they both get their HEA, but it’s a fantastic read, once again. Gripping, with touches humour, a little on the other couple/family, and that erotic side. ;)

Thanks Anna Lowe for another great read. :) Roll on the next one. :)

( cowboy werewolves anyone? I found this book after reading a review on a blog. I am completely blank on which one, but the blogger did assure me that I could read these out of order. She was right, I had no problems and I ended up being glad I took the chance.

Heather is a young school teacher that gets dragged out by her friend to a club to meet her friend’s new man and his friend. Heather takes one look and knows evil when she sees it. She’s able to escape, but her friend isn’t as lucky. Heather takes off and drives. And then drives some more, ending up in a small town in Arizona. She meets Cody, a gorgeous man that lives on the ranch where she finds a temporary job as a teacher for the children that live there. Cody is everything she has always wanted in a man. On Cody’s part, he looks at Heather and thinks, MATE. That’s because Heather has exchanged one supernatural being for another after her escape. Cody is a werewolf and is son of the alpha. And it’s against every pack rule for him to date a human, much less mate with one.

Cody was a good character. He’s been looked over by his father in favor of his older brother, and never given any responsibility. When he was younger, he was a bit of a womanizer, but now he wants to prove himself to his father. When women are being found drained of blood and mutilated, he starts working to find the killer. Heather was smart enough to know she had to run when she did. She is also smart enough to know a good man when she meets one. Of course she doesn’t know what Cody really is.

This ended up being a good romance with plenty of smexy times. It’s a short read and really probably is more in the novella category, although it’s not billed that way. I enjoyed the characters-the best part-and the action that is involved. There’s lots of peripheral characters that you know have already either had a book or short story written about, previous to this read. I am really interested in one of the characters named Kyle, who is involved with the murder investigation, so I will probably be reading his book titled, Desert Fate. Keep in mind it’s an adult read. Recommended for paranormal romance readers.

Cody is the younger son of the Alpha. nobody really takes him serious or doesn't trust him to do a descent job of any given task. it kind of haunts him, but he's good at hiding his true feelings with jokes, brassiness and rotating women faster then they change underwear.
that's until heather, a full blooded human, enters the picture as a stand in teacher. he tries to stay away but his wolf isn't having it. drawn to her like a moth to a flame they do their best to fight their attraction, but you know fate. it always has a way of turning out just right. though fate has created a dilemma once more , else she wouldn't be fate i guess.
a heartfelt story how two people find solace with each other. a must have if you're reading the rest of this series, it can't be missing!

Desert Blood finds Heather running as fast as she can away from danger. Cody is at a crossing point in the pack, one where they need to recognize that he's not the class clown anymore. The last thing he needs is a human teacher distracting him. Okay, and this was hysterical to read – the second grade clean jokes. Yes, they are silly enough that I have been repeating them at work. As for Cody and Heather, they have a lot of internalizing going on. Enough that while understandable, you still want to shake them a little bit and say – talk – spit it out! Oh, ya and now my yoga won't ever be the same again – Wow.

This is a great addition to the series and a great standalone.
Cody, the playboy youngest son of the Twin Moon Alpha, and Heather, a human teacher on the run from a vampire who fixated on her and killed her best friend, are featured. After crossing into Arizona, Heather takes a temporary teaching position at the ranch, planning to move on to California when it ends. Cody knows the green-eyed Heather is off limits, but can't stay away from her, while Heather finds her 'no more men' policy going up in flames when Cody is around. Cody believes his dreams of finding his own mate and happy ever after may be within reach. But a vampire is leaving a trail of murdered green-eyed women along the highway headed west toward Arizona, headed straight to Heather.
