I had a Denman brush growing up that was the prized possession in the house, after years of use the handle snapped and the bristles started to fall out but now I have my own and I am so wrapped. I bought this because it was touted as the brush that can do the things 3 brushes can and it is and it certainly can, so happy I purchased it !

Okay Brush, Really Uncomfortable Handle.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2017Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
Its a good hairbrush, brushes my hair good, i use this to do my quiff, i also have a round brush but because it pulls my hair alot and gets alot of hair in it because of this, i wanted to try a vented brush like this, and it does my quiff just fine, not as much volume as with the round brush but i expected as much, that though it not the reason for me only giving it 3 stars...
This reason for this is how uncomfortable it is, the handle is literally just a flat piece of plastic, no grip, really small, and also really really uncomfortable, i have small hands and even with said small hands its still really uncomfortable, so if you have big hands you'll have even worse of a time than me, for this reason alone i can't really recommend this brush, if i were you i'd look for one that looks like it has more of a comfortable handle. (I've included pictures of the handle in all its flat glory)

Not heat resistant

This is a truly terrible hairbrush. I had a vent brush from Boots for about 5 years which was basically fine but had lost some of the tips and needed replacing. I bought this and after 2 months of use all the bristles have melted using a normally hairdrier with a funnel attatchment twice a week! What's the point of a vent brush if it's not heat resistant... Wish I could get a refund as a melted brush is fairly useless now.

Good for untangling long hair, but badly finished
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 February 2015Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
The best part about this brush is its one-piece design. At last I'd found a brush that would not tear hairs from my head where the handle was joined to the head. (I was so tired of having to waste time taking a pair of tweezers and scissors to past brushes just to try to remove the hairs that became jammed into the joint over time.)
It untangles long hair quickly, is very light, and feels comfortable in the hand.
I wanted to love it, but I agree with some others that it feels very sharp on the head, and I have to keep reminding myself to use it very slowly and gently to avoid pain. On examining it more closely, there is plastic 'flash' on the pin 'bobbles' which should have been removed at the factory stage, and the shafts of the pins feel rough.
I have grey hair, which is, by its nature, particularly fragile. This brush may be fine for those with 'stronger' hair, but as I feel that this brush is likely to damage my hair over time, I'm now looking for another with exactly the same design, but which is well-finished, with no rough or sharp surfaces.
Update (ten weeks later): Not having managed to find another plastic brush that wasn't scratchy, I just bought and reviewed a Kent comb (9T) instead which is very kind to the hair and scalp, and perfect for my needs (especially as I no longer use hair dryers), so I will not be returning to using this design of brush again, but will be using the comb along with an old and very soft bristle brush instead.

A change in the build quality is disappointing to a long-time buyer of this Denman Vent Brush - plastic bristles hard on scalp!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 April 2015Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
I’ve had 2 of these exact Denman Vent brushes for over a decade now and I’ve always loved them, owning a black one and a pink one. The pink one eventually after daily use for a decade lost a couple of rubberised bristles and thus I decided to replace it.
As I couldn’t find another pink one on Amazon I chose a black one. The build quality is NOT the same! However i’ve kept it and not returned it as I needed it (I like one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom) but it is in no way as good as the two exact same model vent brushes I have owned for over a decade.
They’ve changed the quality of the materials used in the bristles, they used to be made of a rubberised material that was extremely comfortable in use on the scalp. This one is hard and rather uncomfortable - the bristles are now made from a cheaper to manufacture hard plastic! Very disappointing to a long time buyer and user of this vent brush by Denman!
But, I’ve kept it as its the best brush I know for just brushing out my hair at the end of the day when I’ve had hairspray on it and also its superb for using when I am collecting my hair up into a ponytail etc. I’ve gone back to using my Aveda paddle brush for brushing as this vent brush is so uncomfortable on the scalp if you press on too hard when using it.
So, a good brush design but the change of materials used in manufacture lend this to be a big let down!

Perfect for long beards 🧔🏻
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 July 2019Colour: BlackVerified Purchase
I bought this to replace paddle brushes which keep dying.
I have a fairly long beard and wanted a brush that would penetrate to the skin and flatten as it pulls the hair down. Paddle brushes are good but the cushioned bristle bits just keep pulling out.
This brush does everything I need it to and being solid plastic shouldn't break.
