Product description

Product Description

There are a great range of views of the Apostle Paul. Just as an example, a book ‘Four Views on the Apostle Paul’ has just been released in which four notable biblical scholars argue for four significantly different takes on who and what Paul was. These very different views still see the Apostle Paul as an advocate for the claims of Yeshua/Jesus as the Messiah.

There are an increasing number of voices though that dispute even this; that argue that the Apostle Paul was out to discredit the religion of the Jewish people, that he was really a liar, a hypocrite, an egocentric and dishonest preacher who only sought to promote his own status and views which were very contradictory to the Jewish religion of his day. Some question whether he was even a Jew and argue that he was a Roman!

Add to this the very strong evidence for the corruption, of some parts of his epistles; including some of the quotations of the Tanakh (OT) being clearly different and even contradictory to the original text they quote!

The number, breadth and variety of divergent views is ample proof that the Apostle Paul’s letters can at the very least be ‘cherry-picked’ to argue for very different and opposing views. Many who do this would appear to do so in a diligent and most sincere manner, and yet still end up with very different understandings.

So, with such divergence (and confusion!), how can we hope to approach this question and bring even a little clarity and resolution to the enigma that is the Apostle Paul?

I would like to suggest what is essentially a scientific approach. In this book I use a scientific method from the historical sciences to try to find the 'real' Paul.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must have" book to FINALLY help understand the apostle Paul 14 July 2013

I was raised a Christian and have a large collection of various books - mostly Judaica - as part of my efforts to sort through the confusing jungle of opinons regarding the actual truths of the faith that originated after the death of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah. Part of that truth is with regards to the legitimate Hebraic/Judaic context of the New Testament. A primary - indeed a crucial - issue to understand is the intent of the apostle Paul (Shaul) - a character who in reference and authorship constitutes a major portion of the New Testament. Traditional misunderstanding of Paul has been disastrous to the original faith of and in Messiah. In these latter days the real message from Paul's writings is slowly beginning to surface and the errors of traditional Christian understanding being exposed.

This book may be THE best of many I have read through which a typical person can finally come to understand Paul in the proper context. The reasons are largely because: 1) it is concise, 2) not overly burdensome to read, 3) the author's opinion is very well argued, 4) he draws from extensive and well researched material authored by some of the best scholars and experts ever, 5) it is properly derived from Paul's ACTUAL Hebraic based world view instead of the Greco-Roman world view of traditional Constantinian Christianity, and 6) it is a short enough writing to not tire the reader. Its relatively short discussion size compared to other massive, burdensome discussions on the same subject is a big reason I like it so much since it makes the subject more easily understood by a wider audience.

I very highly recommend this book, will link to it from my own religious site, and have already begun to contact others to alert them that there is finally an easily understood book that brings it all together and presents Paul's epistles in the PRO-Torah framework in which they were originally intended. You want to finally understand Paul? Get this book.

Was recommended by family. Not sure what they were trying to achieve, but does nothing for me. I never struggled with who Paul was.
