Having thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the trilogy (Blood Ties) I was very much looking forward to Deep Water. And I was not disappointed.
Bramble gets a view of the past that forces her to re-think her view of the present. Ash has to confront his own personal demons and all the time Saker is bringing the world closer to a catastrophe.
The author's style is refreshingly different from most other fantasy around at the moment, both in story content as well as in the way she tells the story.
Update: I would still say that 'Deep Water' is an excellent read, but you may want to investigate a bit further before committing yourself to the series. The last book of the trilogy is now out and I personally gave it only a three star rating. Hence, I would not as highly recommend the series as a whole. However, if you check out the American site top reviewers are giving 'Full Circle' full marks so maybe it just didn't work for me
