A great new thriller6 April 2017 - Published on Amazon.com
I have read all of Deborah Coonts' books and enjoyed them for different reasons. Deep Water is different because it is filled with more suspense and twists than humor, although there are parts where it still comes through. I found the more I read the faster I became hooked. The main players are interesting and there is a tension that builds throughout the book. Like another reviewer I had the same thought while reading, that Sam Donovan doesn't seem to be the "main character", even though she is a primary focus. Also, there were a few moments when I got a bit lost on who some of the "secondary" characters are (which doesn't happen to me often), but I still felt that the overall development of the characters was good and I was engaged in the story. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery!
Spell bound from the beginning.22 August 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
I liked the fast pace clean story. By clean, I refer to the well handled sexual scenarios as well as no profanity. To me each was an enhancement not a detraction to be skipped over. Once again remember this is entertainment with more than enough twist and turns to make you want more. I really do not know who to recommend this to as I am a senior who really likes a who dunnit. This author seems to be able to provide good reading material. I hope she continues on her own. No more co authorship books for me.
Enjoyed the book15 May 2017 - Published on Amazon.com
Enjoyed the book. It kept me interested, although I did think the relationship between 2 of the characters was too long in coming together. Too much baggage involved. Overall though, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Glad to see Deborah Coonts branching out with new literary adventures. Her books are easy to read, and for the most part enjoyable. I just wish she didn't make the relationships in her stories so encumbered. We all have had a relationship fall apart, or not work out - we learn from it and move on. To deny ourselves the hope of finding "true" love is too much work. Life is too short - enjoy every moment!
What really happened to Deep Water Horizon8 April 2017 - Published on Amazon.com
Like Deep Water, there is stupidity and greed at work. Coonts adds the backstory to make it entertaining. I am a big fan of her Lucky O'Toole series, but now I have to add her name to my short list of thriller writers. One small nag: there is one place the explanation starts to sink the story, but it is a mere hiccup. Besides, many questions are answered, like, how to land a helicopter in a near hurricane. Lots of fun.
Thriller22 June 2017 - Published on Amazon.com
I have read many of Deborah Coonts books and liked them all, previous ones were romantic and humorous mysteries. This one is a suspenful thriller mystery. This book keeps the readers attention all the way thru. I started this book one evening and read until 3am, then got back to it as soon as I could for the next 2 days. The story is about greed and family, the characters are all quite real and the story flows well
