You thought that Boone and Emily could only get into trouble in the Antilles, right? Guess again. And if you thought that Nick Sullivan was an actor first and a writer second, you had better buckle up before you read Deep Roots, because he’s about to blow you away with his writing skills. This book is my new personal favorite in his Deep Series.
When the hurricane damage in the Antilles eliminates Boone and Emily’s divemaster jobs, they find work in the Central American paradise of Belize. In addition to reef diving, they now find themselves learning the very specialized and dangerous sport of cave diving. You can start to picture the possibilities, right? So did Nick Sullivan.
Just when you think the story is about to wind down, Sullivan keeps throwing in head fakes and ramping up the action. Deep Roots is one of those books that will have you reading until dawn because you just can’t help yourself. Boone and Emily face more danger than ever, and that’s part of what strengthens and deepens their characters. This pair have truly evolved into a franchise, and it’s very easy to envision a long string of great books coming out of their interactions and escapades. I can't wait!
So, give Nick Sullivan’s regards to Broadway, he won’t be back anytime soon. He’s too busy writing great books!”

Boone and Emily back diving deep in sea and plot depths in complex modern BelizeReviewed in the United States on 21 July 2020
Nick Sullivan never disappoints in both squiring you around memorable dive sites and equally memorable people, this time in a Belize at once the old Caribbe yet the changing island/coastal Central American world. Scenes are blessed with oceanic beauty, haunted by authentic dangerous undercurrents that in this case threaten to end the lives of two of the most likable characters in modern diving fiction. Sullivan knows his business, making you a wingman right beside Emily and Boone in their endeavor to live their peripatetic SCUBA life as they learn a tough lesson in the risks of underestimating the power of avarice to turn idyllic adventure into a deadly fight to survive.
Terrific read!!Reviewed in the United States on 15 May 2020
As a veteran, diver, yachtsman, boat captain, and pilot, who has lived in the Caribbean over 30 years I am hard pressed to appreciate the writing in most of the adventure books in or about the caribbean, way to many inaccuracies and holes in the stories for me. That is not the case with Nick Sullivan. This is the third of Sullivan’s books I have read with these characters and theme and cant wait to read the next, he demonstrates knowledge, and experience about what he is writing, and spins it in an exciting way to keep your attention. If you enjoy adventure I am confident you will enjoy this read.

Adventure set in real locationsReviewed in the United States on 16 July 2020
When much younger, we had the opportunity to scuba dive in several of the locations mentioned in this book. The information about the diving is quite realistic. Of course, the rest of the story is pure adventure. The author is also a narrator of audio books and does an outstanding job, especially with his own material. My spouse and I enjoy listening to the entire series when we make long trips in the car. I understand even more books are in process and I look forward to getting them when they are released. Another great readReviewed in the United States on 13 May 2020
I always look forward to new books by Nick Sullivan. Enjoyable, fast-paced and action-filled. Plus each is a tour guide to some new place that I haven't been to! This third book takes place in Belize and makes me want to visit there. Plenty of excitement!
