Another great read by Riley Edwards. An amazing story about two broken people who have to battle a lot of emotional turmoil to find a happy ending. This book is filled with suspense and a mystery as well. Both Tex (Protecting Melody) and Beth (Shelter for Elizabeth) from Susan Stoker make an appearance. Finished it in one day couldn't put it down. There's not more that I can say that won't give away too much. This is a must read join Declan and Autumn on their emotional journey of self discovery, forgiveness and love. A fitting end to the Gold Team series be sure to read the others books in the series to fully enjoy this one.

So Declan and Autumn, a long time coming and so much healing to do on both sides, wow these two are amazing separately and f..king awesome as a team.
Their story was always going to be the most emotional... I thought I was prepared for it...lol yeah there was no preparing for that story at all but damn it was worth the journey.
All of the highs and lows to get to that ending... letting go of the past diving into the present so they could build a future together was so amazing to read. Yes I totally loved it.

I’ve been waiting for this since Declan got introduced in Violets book
Then when autumn was introduced I immediately hoped they would cone together.
This was a perfect mix of happy, sad, joy, tears, heartbreaks but more than that it was perfect to see them both build a life together after all they’d been through.
Declan and Autumns story hurts because you’ll never understand truly what the characters, both main and secondary, go through unless you’ve experienced it yourself but Riley has done an amazing job of trying to bring to light the second trafficking industry and the turmoils those affected by it go through afterwards.
There were parts I felt were wrapped up without enough explanation ie; Omni and Strothby, and I would’ve loved to have seen more of the red team and their partners throughout the series but I guess trying to add in 50 other people can get a bit overkill.
I also loved Riley’s inclusions of Susan Stockers characters throughout both Red and Gold series. It was a perfect mix adding them in without her trying to change any of the storyline’s or who they are as written

Wow, wow and wow. What more can I say about Declan and Autumn. This was the best book by far of Riley’s that I have read. What an emotional journey for both of them. I loved them.

This book was bittersweet as I knew we would get an HEA for Dec and Autumn but also sadness for the end of a wonderful series❣️
Declan and Autumn are an amazing couple and have many highs and lows. They both have demons from their pasts that they fight to claw their way to each other😱 I loved the ending and I can’t wait to read the Blue Team next❤️

Declan first appeared as a character in book 3 of Red Team (Redeeming Violet) and has intrigued Riley Edwards fans ever since, he now finally has his own story and boy oh boy what a story it is, thank you Riley this has been so eagerly anticipated and you delivered in spades! You could read Declan as a standalone but I very strongly recommend that you read the Red Team and Gold Team books first to get the true measure of Declan otherwise you are missing out and depriving yourself of so many incredible stories and hours of reading bliss.
Declan is a closed book to those around him - cold, emotionless and secretive, he's shut himself off and let's no one close. He won't allow himself to feel because feeling something means pain and devastation and he can't go there again but when he looks at Autumn and sees his own tortured soul reflected back he can't pull back from her.
Unimaginable evil touched Autumn and shattered her life, she survived but only as a tortured empty shell of the person she once was. Autumn now exists to eradicate the world of evil and protect others from suffering like her no matter the toll it is inflicting on her soul.
Two shattered, tormented souls find a degree of peace in each other but the carefully constructed walls they've built are starting to crack, feelings are emerging that terrify them both. Will they be able to rebuild all that is broken in each other and find a new way together.
A truly brilliant beautifully written story filled with emotion, utterly heartbreaking in places (you will cry), counterbalanced by action and intrigue and plenty of laughter too. It is a completely fitting end to the Gold Team series and an utter triumph, Riley Edwards you are a star.

Oh my! Brilliant end to the Gold team series

This book has it all, the characters as always are detailed and real. We’ve been working towards this book from the end of Red team. There is so much in this book to recommend, where do you start? It is full of laughter action and sweet angst. Declan and Autumn finally get their HEA but they have to work hard to get there. Just when you think the story is nearing it’s conclusion another twist happens, surprising but important as it signals key information for Blue team. I love that Dec and Autumn’s story doesn’t end with them getting together. We get glimpses of the future life not just for them, but also other Gold team members. I smiled, I cried, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved reading it and although i wanted to get to the end, i also didn’t want it to end! I have totally enjoyed Red and Gold teams and look forward to more of Z corps with Blue team.

Incredible end to the 'Gold Team' series
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 July 2020Verified Purchase
Declan is the concluding book in Riley Edwards ‘Gold Team’ series; featuring Declan Crenshaw’s long-awaited back story, pieces of which are woven into previous books in the series and Riley’s related ‘Red Team’ series, alongside Autumns history from her point of view, this book is an impassioned tale of two emotionally devastated people putting their hearts and sanity on the line to make the world a better place - and to get some justice.
The character development through the series is divine, building through the books though private moments between friends and family and side-lines to missions. With a story of loss in my own life, I love how the melancholy these two feel deeply is out in the open and how the complexities of heartbroken or destroyed people work out when chasing a HEA (happily ever after).
Riley ensures to keep plenty of happy moments - and one particular moment at the end of chapter at 11 that made me laugh – hard.
The one only thing I do not like about the book is that it ended a series I’ve become attached too - I’ll miss the teams, their dynamics, and tales of Zane’s dimples until Riley teats us to more in the future ‘Blue Team’ series.

The perfect end to the series but left you wanting more. If you are a fan of Riley you will not be disappointed and this book ties in the whole team and leaves the door open for the next team to walk through. It’s hard leaving a review when all you want is to talk about the plot and characters, who did what who said what ......
