Product Description

Saving the life of someone you love should not be the worst thing you have ever done, unless you’re an Angel of Death.
Frustrated with his position as an angel, Nathaniel Evans casts aside the rules of the afterlife and rescues nineteen year old Juliana Crowson from freezing to death. His inability to watch Juliana suffer causes a sequence of deadly accidents, and he soon becomes her constant protector.
In the mountains of Colorado, Nathaniel comforts Juliana as she struggles to understand her paranormal abilities while coping with her guitar-playing brother’s recently exposed secrets. When an ill-tempered Native American shaman teaches Juliana the difference between ghosts and place memories, she decides she wants nothing to do with the supernatural world. Too bad she doesn’t know that Nathaniel is part of it.
Will fate allow them to be together, or has Nathaniel made the biggest mistake of his afterlife?

Wow I was surprised with this one and could not put it down. I really liked Nathaniel he seemed torn with his "job" gave him a very real feel. And Jules was well grounded nice twist... I won't tell you have to read it. I think ill try the next one. Good story line with real life issues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling Believable Fantasy! 25 July 2014

I bought this book because I write in the same genre and love books about angels, but when I saw that the Angel in this book had the same name as one of my angel characters, I just had to buy and read it. I certainly wasn't disappointed. This story is full of intrigue and is so romantic. I loved every part of it. The information about herbs and healing was also informative as I also grow my own herbs and use them for medicinal purposes. I learnt a lot from this story. All the characters are interesting and It was wonderful to travel to another part of the world just reading this book. The only complaint I have is that I couldn't put it down until I read all of it and got behind with my writing. The male MC came to life for me and it was like reading about the MC angel in my series, which is amazing because this author and I have never crossed paths before. It's like the same guardian angel has connected with us both. Loved Jody A Kessler's unique writing style and I can't wait to read more of her fabulous stories. I would give this book 10 stars if I could, I so loved it!
4.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing 13 February 2015

I wasn't sure at first. The writing style was different. However, the more I read, the more I wanted to read. I didn't see it coming when realization hit me on who Nathaniel was there for. He is charming and caring....so unlike an Angel of death. Julieanna has seen her share of heartbreak, but she is a strong person and paramount to the storyline. I couldn't put the book down well into the night. I am certainly looking forward to book two and will continue to follow this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST book I've read this year!! 22 March 2013

What can I say about this debut novel? Let's start with first impressions - the cover is absolutely breathtaking. I had to buy this book because I could not take my eyes off the cover. Well done, Jody Kessler.

I instantly liked the heroine, Juliana Crowson, and her brother, Jared. Their close sibling relationship was endearing. Even though Jules had assumed the role of his caretaker - trying to convince him to make good decisions based on his propensity to choose the wrong path - they were still like the best of friends. Nathaniel is the Angel of Death. Now you would think you would be terrified, for the heroine, by the Angel of Death, but not in this story. Nathan is broken -- trying to help others cross over into death and understand their fate when he hasn't quite accepted his own. When he meets his new `client' Juliana, everything changes... for both of them.

Death Lies Between Us is a fascinating paranormal romance that has twists and turns that can't be predicted. I was on the edge of my seat, flipping pages furiously through most of the book. Jody A. Kessler has created the beginning of a series that keeps you wanting more. The story is tightly woven and flows beautifully from beginning to end. The supporting characters are just as well written as the main characters. There are those you love, those you hate, and some you just can't quite wrap your head around. This is definitely an author, and a series, to keep your eyes on!

I loved the combination of Angels and Native American mysticism. As a debut novel I admire the authors scope and ability to create characters the reader gets involved with. Get invested in.
I look forward to see this author grow into the promise she so obviously holds.
