If anyone else is like me, I've been desperate for the conclusion to this series. I had hopes that the author wouldn't kill off the characters I loved most (because sometimes she does that) and couldn't wait to see if the last blink would change everyone's future in a positive or negative way. It was difficult enough leaving the series with Deegan Hart on the verge of disappearing.
In this last installment, Mitchell makes a decision that changes not only the past world they've been blinked into, but it changes the lives of everyone in his immediate vicinity. And what they bring back with them from his past earth could change the entire future.
This author writes the most vivid and realistic characters. Their reactions to their situations and surroundings are always blunt and sometimes crass, but they are entertaining and delightful, even when confronting the danger of their dystopian lives. I always feel as if I've been taken on the adventure of a lifetime with them, and this series was no different. Each volume was difficult to put down, and the ending was perfect and fitting for this particular adventure. I will miss these characters, and I hope she pulls one or two of them into her remaining dystopian adventures. I have to thank her for including us in the phenomenon that was The Death Series.
