Effectively, Buffy The Vampire Slayer except her name is Izabel and she’s going to be slaying more than vampires :)The love interest isn’t too bad and the dynamic looks like it’ll work. The story kept me more interested than I expected, so was well worth the read.

The book was an easy and enjoyable read with likable characters, although predictable. Downside is it is a continual sage; one must buy other books to get more of the story.
Dead at Twilight definitely pulls inspiration from The Vampire Diaries and, of course, Twilight. But, while the writing and dialogue felt forced at times, it was enjoyable. I felt like I was watching an episode of TVD. I couldn't help but catch all the parallels. From the clueless sheriff (who isn't so clueless) to the Founding Families and parties to bff witches and Hunters. AND, one of Isabel's new friends is named Elena. I can relate almost anything back to The Vampire Diaries. It's a talent.
I never use the word 'instalove' because I love romance in my stories. The more the better in my opinion. But, beware here, because it's instant instant . 😂
I also kept trying to figure out if I missed a chapter or a whole prequel because Isabel's past kept being referenced but I didn't remember reading about it. Maybe it's explored more in later books???
Shaded Falls has the potential to be a bingeworthy series so on to book 2.
