It passes the audition...Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 April 2013
I've really enjoyed this series of books set in 70's and 80's and, of cours, written at that time as well - there are no 'knowing' gags based on our knowledge of the times, this is a series of books based around the character of Charles Paris - actor, often resting, and amateur detective. Set in and around the theatre, TV, films, and radio each self-contained story - you can read them in any order, quite important for enjoyment of a series that already exists - provides a nice relatively undemanding whodunnit, with a considerable amount of humour as well as an insight into the thespian world.

This was typical Charles Paris, and a very good read , although not quite as good as some he has written.

Enjoy these stories on the radio so decided to buy one to take on holiday. I wasn't disappointed. Will be getting some more.
A great read.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 August 2016
Don't be fooled by the ease with which you read this book! Witty and cleverly constructed. And the "peep behind the curtain" of an actor's world is irresistible
