Product Description

Marine First Sergeant Logan “Cowboy” Reese was rescued hours before he would’ve met the same fate as his five murdered teammates in Afghanistan. Returning to the US and civilian life hadn’t been part of his plans at this stage of his career, but dealing with PTSD forced his hand. However, an unexpected job offer with Trident Security, a private firm in Tampa, has him finding a purpose in life again, but will his flashbacks destroy a promising future altogether?

Officer Dakota Swift has worked hard to prove she belongs on Tampa PD with the big boys and has been trying to get assigned to the Special Operations Division. A local, serial killer, targeting submissives in the BDSM lifestyle, gives her the opportunity to get her feet wet in undercover work. She’s assigned to the joint task force between TPD, the FBI, and Trident Security, but can she survive her attraction to her new partner, Logan?

The operatives of Trident Security have a keen interest of catching the “Kink Killer” as the heads of the company also own a BDSM club, The Covenant. Until his identity is discovered, no woman in the lifestyle community is safe. With the body count rising, will the killer be caught before someone from The Covenant becomes the next victim?

Another stellar read from Ms. Cole. There was one thing that annoyed me though, and that was that it was far too short. Sam, your stories must never end! Can't wait for more Omega Team.

it was amazing

Military, Law enforcement/ Fire officers as well as many agency staff put their lives on the line every single day that they serve, most hopefully live through and for the most part enjoy their chosen career, but there are also many that don't. Some are killed in action, some injured and for those, many it is life changing. For others it is more of a mind injury a result of things they have seen, heard or experienced, maybe being captured and tortured or form an extreme fire with massive loss of life. Lots of reasons and causes but it doesn't make it any easier for those that live with PSTD, so many different triggers can set it off. Samantha has written an incredibly powerful and sensitive story that covers just a small bit about this subject. Written in a way any one of us can get an understanding of what it is like and how it can affect those struggling with it, also a possible way to help get a little control back.
The build up from previous books to finding the Dom serial killer hits its peak and I have to say "awesome job Samantha" she kept me guessing to the end. I loved Logan and Dakota, they seem quite evenly matched in all ways. Logan especially took my heart I guess mostly because he was still fighting and willing to try anything that may help make life just a little easier to deal with, but even then still wanting to honour his buddies. I look forward to getting more of both of them in future books.
Plenty of suspense and tension plus the dealing with the PTSD helps to keep your heart racing and you sitting on the edge of your seat. Some very serious issues dealt with in this story but we do also get glimpses of humour here and there. I am in awe that this author still manages to out do each book, I keep thinking each will just not be as good as the last, but each time she proves me wrong. Not only is each as good as the last but they are even better. I feel blessed and privileged to read her stories, the Trident and Omega series are definitely my favourites. I see another big hit with this one, fantastic read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Answered Questions 19 July 2017

Wow! Talk about suspense! The build up to finding the Kink Killer has spanned quite a few books of the Trident Security Series. I was anxious to discover the killer's identity but wanted to savor the reading experience.

Logan's struggle with PTSD was brilliantly handled. The description of his captivity was brutally hard to read. It gave me goosebumps. It was so well written you felt his pain and the anguish of his loss. The desensitization program conducted by the whip masters was fascinating.

The pairing of Logan and Dakota was white hot. She was strong, independent, focused and secure in her submission. Logan coming into his own as a Dom teally enhanced the healing of his mind and soul.

Samantha A Cole is a gifted writer. She draws in her readers with imaginative, well crafted stories, strong characters, lots of suspense and twists and turns. Reading one of her books is time well spent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super intense! 19 July 2017

Logan Reese is a former POW who has PTSD that includes flashbacks. What he lived through is absolutely gut wrenching. He is now working for Trident Security.

Police officer Dakota Swift has been trying to the Special Operations Division and has pretty much decided to go a different direction after being passed over so many times. She accepts an assignment to work with the joint task force that includes TPD, FBI and Trident Security to finally locate and discover and take down the serial killer "Kink Killer". A serial killer that is targeting submissives who are involved in the BDSM lifestyle.

Logan and Dakota go undercover as Dom and Sub. What I really liked about this book is we follow along with Logan who has absolutely no experience or knowledge of the BDSM lifestyle and we learn along with him.

Logan and Dakota's attraction is instant and builds as the story goes along. The sex scences are sizzling.

The serial killer has been active in several books and the anticipation of who this killer might be has been driving me crazy.

I don't think I have ever had an author that writing seems to get better with each book like Samantha's does. She has an amazing way of writing that pulls the reader right into the story.

Build up of suspense, intrigue in this book is unbelievable. It gets very intense. I seriously could not put this book down. I was at the edge of my seat when the sub escaped the killer. I felt like I was looking behind her to see if he was coming after her. I was also yelling at Logan to hurry back to Dakota's to save her.

Was the killer who I thought it I was completely surprised.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gripping suspense! 19 July 2017

Finally, the conclusion to the kink killer! I think Samantha is an amazing suspense writer, she kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat until the very end! Incredibly complex storyline, twisting and turning with an always amazing cast of characters.
Absolutely loved the faithful portrayal of Cowboy, and all he endured and continues to suffer with PTSD. Dakota was a strong, independent woman unashamed of being submissive. The character of Charlie really got to me, for being so adorable and for what he meant to Logan.
The only thing that bothered me was the relationship between Logan and Dakota, I didn't expect it to be the main storyline but it felt more like an afterthought. They took such a backseat to the background, overall story arc, and other characters (all of which were amazing) that when their relationship was portrayed, it felt rushed.
It's probably just my own feeling, as Samantha is a brilliant author and still one of my favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars Logan finds this is not an easy thing to do 19 July 2017

What happens when you are the sole survivor? How do you learn to breathe again? To go on without your friends and family? Logan finds this is not an easy thing to do. Meeting on special person started him down the road to living again. Meeting another special someone, well he learned to trust and have faith again?

I have said it before, but with this book, Samantha Cole brings the characters to life. I felt actual pain, relief, love from Logan and Dakota. This story wraps you up and then puts you through a grinder before letting you go. With that said I fully and wholeheartedly recommend and suggest you reading this book. It is one of the best yet. Samantha gets better and better with each book. While this is a spin off series it flows seamlessly in with the original Trident series. We finally find out who the sick and demented serial killer is. She wrapped up that story so well. I cannot wait for more.
