New Orleans cozy with quirky characters and laughsReviewed in the United States on 8 January 2020
Let me start by saying that I listened to the audiobook version of this story. This is the second book in the Go-Cuo series but could be read as a stand-a-lone as the is enough background mentioned to let readers in but I definitely recommend starting with the first one as main characters amd relationship sorry carries over to this story. In this story, Brandy Alexander (main character) is called to her best 's bed and breakfast hotel because of a dead guy. Her friend is accused and Brandi goes about trying to clear her friends name along with her childhood friend and cop, Dante. The author has created quirky characters that I find likable. Having grown up in the New Orleans area, I enjoy hearing about locations that I know and it is obvious that the author knows the area and culture of the city which adds credibility. The narrator is great at making distinct voices for each character and bringing their unique personalities to life. I look forward to the next in the series.

Could Not Make It Through the First Chapter!Reviewed in the United States on 1 October 2018
Oh, for heaven's sake. Although most cozy mysteries hardly fall into the literary category, one expects them to at least be minimally believable. But this one...arrrggghhh! Let's see...you wake in a room of your newly-opened bed & breakfast with a dead guest who is covered in blood. So you immediately...move the body, thereby covering yourself in blood and then use the room phone to call...no, not the police, but your best friend?! Delete, delete, delete this from my Kindle, please!
