Our Sins Define Us.

Or do they?

Jaxon Jennings, private eye and brand new father, sees the world in a new light. One where he and his wife, Victoria, can raise their young daughter sheltered from the sins of this world, from his own sins and past mistakes. He has responsibilities and priorities. He has a new life. And his daughter Michelle is the center of it.

So, when a prominent local business owner--who had hired Jaxon for his private investigative services--ends up with his throat cut, the victim of a killer whose methods seem familiar to a case Jaxon had put to bed over twenty years ago, Jaxon's past, once again, rears its ugly head to haunt him.

Reynolds Maubry, a psychopath who used a short, curved blade to take his victims' lives, was serving a life sentence in Virginia. Jaxon had seen to that as a young homicide detective in Washington DC. Maubry's methods were distinct and the evidence he left behind, unique. So, how could he be in sunny north Florida, taking lives again?

A copycat could be the only answer. But when Jaxon discovers that things are not as neat and tidy as they seem, he must face the mounting evidence that he and his family are in danger. And from a place he would never have suspected.

Jaxon badly wants to live this new life. But he can't escape his past sins. To keep himself and his family safe, he must sin again. But who will survive?

I have read the entire Jaxon Jennings' series and was not disappointed. Richard Hale's books are easy to read and I get the feel of actually being there. Mystery thrillers come top of my list but I also gave him 5 stars for the Lincoln Delabar & Jake Townsend series (I've read all but one!). Try him - I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Another great book by Richard C Hale. As with the previous Jaxon Jennings books a fast paced, gripping and exciting read. Jaxon is a complex character who you can't help but feel for.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Must-Read from Richard C. Hale 9 November 2016
By Marci M - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I don't typically read detective novels because they aren't really my area of interest. However, since first becoming acquainted with Richard C. Hale through his Blank series, I have crossed into many new genres simply to read more by this author. Sins of the Daughters is an excellent example of Hale's storytelling ability. Hale is a clever storyteller who creates compelling characters (even side characters are well developed) that make all his books worth reading (and re-reading) regardless of the genre. This book was particularly enjoyable for me because I wasn't able to piece the mystery together fully until the final pages of the book when Hale wrapped everything up--in other words, it was well-written and kept me interested (and wondering) until the very end. I also appreciated that the ending made sense based on everything leading up to the finale. Hale is one of my favorite authors, and he delivers once again with Sins of the Daughters.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really good reads!! 18 December 2016
By L. R. B. - Published on Amazon.com

This one was excellent, but then, I found the rest of the series quite excellent, too, and read them in succession, one after the other!!
Very fast moving, quite credible linking between events that doesn't involve too much suspending of reality and action sequences that satisy; what more could you ask for?!
I found the sex scenes a little tiresome and drawn out, but the interplay between characters is very well written indeed and often bought a smile to my face!
This is a good character with equally good supporting characters and I will continue to look out for Jaxon Jennings!
5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT, FAST READ 12 February 2017
By jdmh1015 - Published on Amazon.com

I started with book 1 of the Jaxon Jennings series and didn't stop until the end of Sins of the Daughters. Sometimes a bit hokey, sometimes a little predictable, but still the whole Jaxon Jennings series is a great, fast, enjoyable read. Thank you, Mr. Hale. Please don't make me wait too long for the next one!!
5.0 out of 5 stars "This Story Is Magnetic" 14 December 2016
By Nancy L. Silk - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
In this captivating thriller, Jaxon Jennings is a successful private investigator. He's also a new father and sees the world a lot differently. His most important job is the safety of his new daughter, Michelle, and his wife, Victoria. He does not want them exposed to any of the world's sins, and neither to his sins. His current investigation is a prominent business owner who hired him and is now found dead with his throat cut. The methods of this killing are familiar to Jaxon ... from 20 years ago! Great author, great action thriller.
4.0 out of 5 stars I personally did not like it as much as the first three 30 April 2017

I personally did not like it as much as the first three. Less likable characters and a bit too graphic. Still had a couple surprises which I do like. The writing style does grab you.
