I appreciate that this book focuses on older people, in this case, a couple in their mid-to-late sixties. It's the demographic I want to read about. However, I couldn't finish this book.
In romance writing, having the woman seem virginal is a frequently-used plot device. But with Lydia, it was just unbelievable. She couldn't even bring herself to say common words for body parts or interaction between lovers. (I'm trying to keep this clean so my review won't get bounced!)
It's not impossible for me to imagine that you could have people in their sixties, seventies, eighties or whatever, for whom THIS romance is the once in a lifetime, glorious BEST. It isn’t necessary to twist them into infantile, repressed people like Lydia. As interesting as older people are, I’d like to see a romance where the “first ever” aspect is more believable, and frankly, less yucky.

About the Author
Donna McDonald is a best selling author in Contemporary Romance and Humor, and lately has been climbing the Science Fiction list as well. Science Fiction reviewers are calling McDonald "a literary alchemist effortlessly blending science fiction and romance." Contemporary and humor reviewers often write to tell her that the books keep them up reading and laughing all night. She likes both compliments and hopes they are true. McDonald's idea of highest success is to be sitting next to someone on a plane and find out they are laughing at something in one of her books. This would of course be while she was heading off to some new place on her next adventure to feed her creative soul.

surprisingly enjoyable

I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy the fifth book in the 'never too late' series as this is the story of the one of the main characters (rude and obnoxious) mother, however it is as good as the others. The story is well written and had me laughing out loud at various points. The reader is also introduced to two new characters that are to be the focus of the next book (not yet published at present). This book does show that you are never too old and it's never too late!

Another great book Donna. Thank you. The whole series is great and love how Regina as a central figure pulls many of the relationships together. Poor woman with such responsibility, no wonder she wants martinis! I was going to say this wasn't my favourite book but then decided I really can't pick one out of any of them. Just the books and stories I love to read giving lots of feel good factor. Book 6 is in my library!

I love all the never too late series. They are well written and keep your interest. I like how the characters move from book to book, so you are up to date in what they are doing. This book is good because it has an older main character and is just as good as the others. Well worth a read.

It took me hours to read-the same as the other books from the series-I am reading the last book now and already being sad, that there are no more..
