I got this book as it was a prescribed textbook by my University.
Yes, the book is quite fat and has a LOT of content in it! But I would like to point out that the author has explained the concepts very well! If you read through it, you won't notice when you've progressed through the chapters. I have to say, that even for a beginner, this is a very well written informative book!
The concepts are quite up-to-date and it is explained in such a way that even if you pick up a random concept from the middle without any prior knowledge of anything else, it is quite likely that you would clearly understand most of it without much effort!
On the negative side, I felt that the book is too theoretical and lacks a mathematical or practical approach. Otherwise, I don't see any significant shortcomings in this book.
