Conrad and Charlies story is a must read for everybody and i have and will keep recommending this book to people!
Celias way of writting has you thinking and feeling everything they go through from start to finish. It make you feel as if you are right there along with them and what a terrific journey it is as well!
This book is a must read from me! Kepp up the awesome work! 5 stars all the way!
The plot was engaging, passionate, action-packed, sexy and edgy. The characters were well-developed and even sympathetic. Despite his ice cold and violent disposition, Con was appealing in his dedication and tenderness towards Charlie. Charlie seemed vulnerable, but she was a survivor and a strong woman, too. The story highlighted the meeting of soulmates who learned to trust and accept each other for who/what they were. Nate, a secondary character, brought humour to the dark and seductive narrative (maybe he'll be the hero in a new narrative?!) There were many other characters, mostly villains and bad guys who all played their part in telling the story. The pace was fast in the action scenes and slower in the intimate scenes - all very appropriate. Celia used clipped language to set the tone between Charlie and Con initially, but as their relationship grew their dialogue became more familiar and frank as they each revealed their backstories and present feelings.
As all authors ask for critical feedback, my main one was the conclusion. It seemed a little rushed, cluttered and some aspects were unclear (hence the 4 stars). Dark Protector was still an entertaining book that I recommend to readers who like mafia-based novels.
***The following are examples of a couple of details that didn't quite add up and may be spoilers for some readers. I will word them so as not to give away the plot, but please don't read on if you are concerned:
1. When Con and Charlie were hiding out, they took great care to go unnoticed in an unoccupied house, yet they lit a fire which meant chimney smoke would be visible and they used facilities which would register to owners as energy use.
2. I am unsure what caused the injury to Charlie in the concluding stages. I reread the scene and it was still vague.

The Dark and Dangerous Conrad Mercer is just the type of bad man who every woman would secretly love to be their stalker. Or maybe that's just me. ;)
Charlie is a florist she's noticed the car outside the shop senses someone watching her, but she isn't afraid. Actually she finds it comforting.
But someone else is watching not her but Conrad and they've found a way to get to him. His Obsession...Charlie.
It's time for Conrad to come out of the shadows and protect the woman he's crazy about. He's about to go to war to keep her safe. He's a ruthless killer and will destroy anyone who's layed a finger on her.
A great story I loved the chemistry between Con and Charlie.
I really liked Nate too he was hilarious. I'd love to hear his story.
Loved it. -
Loved reading about the life and loves of dark brooding hitman Conrad and his need to protect Charlie... but my honest favourite in this story was the funny honourable bestfriend Nate!!
So many turns and plot twists in this story it keeps you hooked into every page!
Would definitely recommend to others to read!
Well written, good characters and dialogue. Nate was my favourite character, very funny. Very predictable but I liked it.
Worth a. Look.
