Product description

Product Description

Last Spring, Claire was framed for the murder of Junior, the Devil’s oldest hellspawn.

Last Summer, she reawakened the fourth realm, saved the world (after almost destroying it), and wound up with the worst job ever.

Now, Claire’s been locked out of her realm, given an assistant that doesn’t actually assist, and told to handle a small problem in Underworld that might just get her killed.

And to top it all off, Mab’s made one of the contenders her untouchable. So, yeah, you could say Claire’s having one of those days.

Follow more of Claire’s adventures in Dark Forsaken, book 3 of the Devil’s Assistant Series, to find out if Claire can defeat the latest contender, survive the quads, and replace the curator before Harry figures out she’s stolen his blood.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars this series was a great urban fantasy find! 28 January 2016

I'm really enjoying this series. I wader across the first two in audio book form and was happily surprised. (The author said this will be out on audio too although she doesn't have a date.) There are really only 2 little negatives about the book.
1- its a complex story with a lot of world and character building. Its been at least a few months since I read the other two, so I had forgotten quite a bit. The author did provide a character recap in the beginning of the book, which was nice.
2- It was too short! :) It wasn't novella short but it didn't seem as long as the first two, and when the story is good you want a good long book. That didn't detract in any way from the story though!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent installment to a solid series 30 June 2016

I really enjoyed this installment of the Devils assistant Series. As always, the world building was excellent. The characters are developing in very interesting ways and the story is very engaging. The story is a third installment, and really is not a standalone.

I first learned of HD Smith because she and I attended the same romance readers conference. I would not describe this series as Romance. It falls more into urban paranormal fiction. Notwithstanding, although I prominently read romance, I have found these books to be very engaging. I will definitely continue to purchase books from this series!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read 28 December 2015

I really enjoyed this book and its many interwoven plots. The book summary gives the background on the story. I think overall it is well written with both action, romance, and humour. I did read the two prior books, but may need to reread to freshen my memory of it's many plots (such as Thanos being the son of both Mab & Giselle). So I do believe you have read the two prior books before this third one. I look forward to the fourth installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite Series!! 12 February 2016

This series is very complex and you have to pay attention but luckily the author refreshes you in the beginning. You MUST read the first two books before you read this one. It has so many interwoven plots and twists and turns but it is and absolutely amazing read.

HD Smith has me liking characters I couldn't stand in other books and Jack... oh Jack. That is all I'm going to say about that. The Devil's Assistant is my favorite series. Watching Claire develop from the assistant to The Boss to what she is now... amazing.

I highly recommend this series and I'm going to do a reread before book 4 comes out.
