Product Description

What would you think if you woke in an unfamiliar place, with no memory of how you got there?

Suppose it’s a dream, and pinch yourself?

What if you can’t pinch yourself?

I have to rely on my ghostly buddies and a fake clairvoyant to help me solve a personally harrowing mystery and just when we think we’ve found the guilty party, the game changes. The real culprit’s convoluted plan is diabolical and shooting me was the first step. The next step could change the Gelpha world, and that would be just the start.

Poor Royal. He’s tolerated my interaction with dead people but never been happy with it. Now he has to take a real leap of faith. Now, if he wants to save my life and protect the future of three worlds, he has to believe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Oh my 23 August 2015

Tiff Banks is an investigator and only a few understand or accept that much of the information she gets that leads to solving a case comes from ghosts that were victims of violent death. She has two living in her house. But she finds out what life is like from their side when her soul separates from her body and the doctors can’t figure out why she isn’t waking up. She’s got to find a way to communicate with Royal to stop him from pulling the plug on the machines keeping her alive, as well as figure out how to get back into her body.

Finding the solution has them crossing into Downside--magical world--and bringing characters together from both series as well as facing a scary adversary from their past; one who seems impossible to stop.

Well this was a nice treat since the author had announced that A Conspiracy of Demons, released in December 2012, would be the last in the series as she started a new one. There is enough information in this story to remind readers of what they might have forgotten, but it’s not a good place to start, especially if you hadn’t read either series. Along Came a Demon, the first book in the series, is free as of this writing.

This story is loaded with a great deal of emotion; pretty much hitting on every one you can think of with the story told from Tiff’s point of view and the situation she finds herself in. And through her eyes we see how it affects her Gelpha lover and investigative partner, Royal, as he needs to make a decision that would affect not only Tiff, but Downside as well as his own world.

I liked how the characters from the two series were brought together. We get a lot of interaction with Jack and Mel, her ghostly roommates as they help in the investigation and teach Tiff how to deal with her situation; experiencing the limitation in their existence certainly gives her a new perspective.

I have read all seven of the books is this series.
Tiff, don't call her Tiffany, and her boyfriend, ex-cop Royal have an private investigation agency. Tiff has a step up on others tho, since she can talk to ghosts And has two resident ghosts in her home.
The first three books were excellent. About the fourth, Royal, suddenly starts speaking without using any contractions. Took awhile for me to understand what was bothering me about him, then I figured it out. It made his seem stiff and unfriendly. No explanation for his change in speech patterns.
And Royal seemed to become overbearing and not as likable as he had been. I loved the story, but began to dislike Royal and wondered why Tiff put up with his attitude.
These books have an excellent story. Fast moving and mostly likable characters. After awhile they seem like old friends.

Loved catching up with Royal and Tiff and was so happy they are back! Bringing in the Downside World was brilliant and it flowed so very well. I got a bit tired of Tiff's angst, but not enough to not give it the full, five-star review. I hope the author continues to be inspired and gives us more of these two unforgettable characters as well as more of the secondary characters from both worlds. Maggie could certainly rock Chris' world :-)

Personally, I thought the author could have condensed this book down to a third or less of what is written. Poor editing. Lots of cutsy dialogue. Action barely there. I started out liking this series but it's time to let go. I had to skim a lot to get through it.

Yet another great book in the series by Linda Welch. I have read all of the Whispering Paranormals series and now plan to go back and read the two in the Downside series as of these books has disappointed me and I really hope that she continues to find inspiration to keep writing them.
