Product Description

Fifteen-year old Valeria Allegro works diligently on the family farm in Italy, where she is torn between her duty to her family and her desire to find freedom from her strict, domineering father. She finds solace in Dario, a young student who provides a blissful escape—until a neighbour’s son, Gregorio, decides he wants her for himself.

This raises an alarm for her father, which leads to family conflict and aggression. When Dario is threatened and her family is plagued by a series of suspicious accidents, Valeria is desperate to keep her loved ones safe. Can she end the turmoil and escape the firmly built trap to find the freedom she craves?

OMG..Teen boys get OBSESSED..Add the girls domineering and over protective father. Oh she is already involved with someone else.
..Inense and dark storyline.
If you don't like Dark and creepy this isn't for you.
Thought provoking. Still analyzing.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc.
Author Lucy Appaloosa is a newer author to me.
She's one of my favorites.

4.0 out of 5 stars Thought provoking and intriguing 30 March 2017

A story of a girl coming of age in Italy, with a rather dysfunction family. This is not a cute, fun loving tale, family anger and abuse cause some events to occur, and friendships are torn apart. This is a serious study in what can happen in everyday life. Well written and emotionally charged. Great read. I received an advanced reader copy free and have voluntarily chosen to leave an honest review.

This was a really good story. Very emotional and definitely flawed,
this is one family that will keep you turning those pages. I truly
enjoyed reading it and I highly recommend it to everyone.
I voluntarily read an advance review copy of this book.

I received an ARC and voluntarily left an honest review. I did not particularly enjoy this book. It deals with very real issues and hardships and is a good coming of age story. Unfortunately for me, it was not a time for me to read it.
