Authors focus on medicine, wealth and business to dispel the myth of certainty and the illusion of control. 'Sminking' is a well phrased and well explained construct. The 'Augment' part of 3A's ensures something really crucial - help prepare for the known unknowns and the Black Swans. Uncertainty categorisation into - 'Subway' and 'Coconut' - catches reader's fancy. Agree with the authors when they point guns at Statistics and Pyschology on why the human mind of today isn't fully capable of making consistently efficient decisions and do not plan for risk. The 2x2 matrix of control/chance is going to stay with me.
Some ideas mentioned in the book are more elaborately explained by Taleb and, Kahneman-Tversky duo. This book could be a good primer to readers yet unexposed to the concepts of Black Swan and heuristics and biases.
Writing style is easy and the anecdotal/fictional style of storytelling helps connect with concepts through characters. Recommend the book.
