The size of the product is the same as the description, and there is basically no error.I also tested the flame retardancy of acoustic, which is very good. Meet my requirements! Safety is the most important thing.
I’m extremely happy with this purchase and will order more to complete the project.
I think those who are not satisfied with free tape buyers, It's unfair to write to product 1 or 2 star review.
Shape and size looks uniform, well cut, good density and came with adhesive tape. I installed them in the wall behind my listening position to reduce early reflexions and they work well. This panels are most effectively on mid-high frequency so, probably I'll order some bass traps for low frequencies.
Tuning your space means reducing high frequency nodes and echoes that effect the sound in your room. Place these on hard surfaces to get rid of unwanted reflections and flutter echoes that can annoy. I use them in my home recording studio as my walls are hardwood so are quite reflective. I want SOME reflection but only in certain spots.
These panels are nice for the price. I have mostly 'high-end' panels which are much thicker and therefore better at absorption but are also far more expensive. I find a mix of both works well and is cost effective. I like to build 1x1 or 2x1 foot frames out of furring strips with a burlap cloth front and install the panels in these and not hang the acoustic panels directly on the walls with tape. They are more mobile when framed and look much better (less industrial). It also builds in air space behind the panels so that sound penetrating through the panel must pass back through again after bouncing off the wall (or ceiling), reducing the energy of the echo even more.
Again, for the price, these are great, and for simple home listening, or perhaps reducing echoes in a noisy environment like a restaurant or something, these are a great choice. For really focused listening environments like studios and such, I suggest a mixture of these with some denser, thicker panels.
Either way, these are worth the cost and I do recommend them.
Please understand that this product isn't made to stop sound or to soundproof. It's basically a cushion for sound to reduce echo in an empty room. For example; I cleared out an old guest bedroom to turn into my home office for phone call work. After taking everything out of the room like the bed, lazy boy chair and took some pictures off the wall, I went right to work answering phone calls. Oh boy was I in for a surprise, it sound like I was in a cave somewhere in the Grand canyon. Everything I said, echo echo the point where the the sound echoed through the the phone making it hard for caller to understand me... I added the foam squares to the wall in front and behind me and automatically the echo has diminished greatly. It's not all gone, but I think with one more set it will definitely make the difference and give me the experience I'm actually looking for. I will add more also to give room a better look in certain areas. Because to be frank it looks pretty neat hanging in a home office/studio too.
I totally recommend this product. And thank you for reading my honest review.
So to recap, if you want to waste time trying to put up these foam panels only to see them fall to floor 15 minutes later and mess up your walls then these are the foam panels for you.
It’s effective at echo cancellation if you know where to put it and cut a lot of echo and ambient noise using sensitive cardioid and ribbon mics with high gain preamps.
This is the stuff you want on a home budget. Anything better starts costing about $5 per square foot, is way heavier, and most likely overkill.
Note that this stuff isn’t fire resistant (it’s not required to be). I have a sprinkler system, so I’m not very concerned, but keep it in mind.
