Many of the reviews I read mentioned that the shirt is very soft, but didn't offer much in the way of comparison. I don't know what this fabric is really called unfortunately, but if it is indeed "terry" it's not at all like a terry sweatshirt. To me, it's a very heavy (thick) fine-gauged knit. So it has a lot of stretch, and drapes decently, assuming that you do not order a smallish size---because then it will cling to every lump and bump on the body. I think it might be a little uncomfortable to wear this shirt in hot or humid weather due to the thickness of the knit.
In terms of length, the shirt is okay. It does cover the crotch and rear, while still maintaining the look of a short-sleeve tee, rather than a long tunic top.

This shirt pills badly!!! Very, very badly. As in.... after a single wearing, or after a few hours of carrying a cross-body bag, or after using a car seatbelt. Basically, anything that rubs against this shirt is going to create a pill. I can't believe anyone would ever think this is a good fabric to make a shirt out of.
I wore this shirt for a single occasion, with a blazer and a cross-body bag with a very thin-but-smooth leather strap....and the shirt is essentially useless now. It is badly pilled on every square inch, even all the way down to the hem or up high at the shoulder seams. I tried using a fabric shaver to knock down some of the pills, but the fabric is so stretchy and spongy that it doesn't shave down well. It takes forever to cover the entire shirt with a shaver...
You can see in the attached photos that roughly 2 cotton-balls worth of lint came off in the first lint-shaving session. That might look like a lot, but the shirt still looks dingy and worn even after all that effort. There is basically no amount of shaving that will fix this t-shirt due to the difficult nature of the fabric. You should basically consider this a one-time-use shirt, because once it starts pilling, it's useless.
Until I wore it out. I wear a crossbody purse and the stripes of the shirt began to “melt” where stripes met the purse (chest, shoulder, hips) due to piling - it looked dirty! After 2 washes it was completely untenable - it looked sloppy and cheap. I sent it back and received a full refund from amazon.
