It's made of 100% cotton, knit, fabric that is slightly slubby and a bit thicker than an ordinary t-shirt. It is machine washable and tumble dry.
It has a t-shirt cut with slightly dropped shoulders, rolled sleeve ends, and a curved hem at the side seams. It has a V-neck with a narrow, applied, neckband. The V is not too deep - just deep enough to be flattering.
This dress has an A-line cut so it is loose at the waist and hip area. One thing to note is that it is cut a bit longer than some other, Daily Ritual, t-shirt dresses I have. I like this because I am tall and I don't have to wear leggings with it to go out but if you are short, you may find that it's a bit long. Because it is cut loose and has dropped shoulders, you may be able to size down one size for a closer fit if you have an average build. I have a large bust and I think I could have sized down but if you have a significantly larger bottom or hips, you probably want to stick to your usual size as the A-line shape is not dramatic. It's a great cut for women with a bit of a tummy, though.
This dress will probably not please women who like a more fitted silhouette but if you love loose and comfortable without looking sloppy, this is a nice choice. I like it so much, I bought it in 6 colors and it's comfortable enough that I can use it as a sleep dress when I travel.
Update - tried the large, again I am approx. 5' 6" 150 pounds and long waisted - the large fits like a giant, shapeless potato sack. The shoulder hangs way too far down, the length is down to mid knee. It would be very nice to choose a pic. that represented an average female body rather than a 6 foot straight up and down body. I love cotton and I am always on the look out for something cottony/comfortable/female cut with decent fabric (not too thin) such that it does not ride/hang over the wobbly bits - it is nice not to wear a girdly/spanx etc., especially on warmer days or even just to be comfortable yet not disgusting. Please find some average humans to use as models to make something like this. THANK YOU!!!
As it is a rectangular shape and I am not, it did hang over my hips in an flattering way, I tried it with cotton slip under it and this seemed to help. The idea is to be comfortable and without girdly/spanx etc..
Comfortable 100% cotton material
Can wash and dry with regular laundry
Was not horribly wrinkled after removing from the dryer (this is great - pull it out and put it on!)
Can role up for packing/travel etc.
The material is not too thin
Great for everyday wear
Could be used as either t-shirt dress, nightie or swim suit cover, with or without leggings
Price is good (note: it does cost a bit more for a larger size with some)
Could be dressed up or down
The shape is boxy, rectangular, straight up and down, unlike many women's bodies which are a bit more a-frame
Rolled up sleeves - would rather have the option (for some it is nice to keep arms a bit covered)
Tails/u-shape on the ends/bottom, it kind of resembles a night gown
Medium size is a bit long for someone who is 5'6" with a long waist - it is designed for a 6 foot tall model, straight up and down
Shoulders seems hang down a bit longer than expected for a medium on someone of my size
A bit of an a line, a bit wider at the bottom
Option to role sleeves up in order to have the option for a bit more arm coverage
No tails on the end, just a tad bit shorter and or offer various length options (model is almost 6 feet in small, the dress is down to her knees) Keep in mind, many of us are not straight up and down, 6 feet tall)
If it were a bit more femininely styled (a line) it would be very nice to have some additional colors and patterns (Maybe it is best if you don't make it exactly as I would like, I might come back for too many more, like making my french fries extra crispy!)
Shoulders that don't hang down too far (it starts to look slouchy and or ill fitting)
Please notify me if you make an a-line in 100% cotton - thank you!!!
For reference I'm typically an xs at 116 lb and 5'5. Normally my measurements are 34,26,34. I'm currently pregnant and I'm 120 lbs 34 top and 37" hip. I'll probably size up to a small for this summer's bump bc this xs is snug across my bottom and hips. So, that should let u know the xs isn't huge. I think I'll keep the xs I just got for when I'm back down to normal size.
I like the v neck and the turned sleeves. The material is not a stretchy, bouncy weave. It is a more structural, cotton feel like a round neck t-shirt u get sport teams printed on... Not like the slinky female version of a T.
