Firstly it's written in plain English and short, easy to digest anecdotes. Chris avoids using industry jargon and focuses on what's important - skills you can pick up and use quickly and effectively.
The book is short and to the point, which also makes it easy to absorb and apply immediately.
This is a perfect book for those with little or no experience in managing conflict, but even those with experience will find that it adds to their tookit.

I've seen assaults. Listened to victims explain how they've been attacked, and I've been on the receiving end on many occasions!
If people read Chris' book, I know that they would undoubtedly reduce the threat, harm and risk to their personal safety.
His book is written with fundamental basics; basics that cannot be overlooked or underestimated.
If you read this book and think it's obvious, that's the beauty of it. Chris' basic content isn't Bruce Lee hype. On the contrary, following his advice means you won't have to fight!
The book is peppered with links to videos explaining Chris' teachings, and his no-nonsense writing is absorbing.
If you value your safety, if you don't want to end up in a cell, if you don't like hospital food, then this book is a small price to pay.
There have been many books on the subject of Conflict Management aimed at violence in the workplace but this is the first that focuses on everyday conflict that can be faced outside that environment.
If you are interested in violence prevention then this is a must.
