In an effort to provide people with the tools to disarm any conflict one may face in their daily lives, Chris Roberts started SAFE International, providing self-defense and violence prevention education in Canada then expanded to several countries around the world. Since its start in 1994, his organization has taught more than 250,000 people in schools, corporations, families, martial arts clubs, and women’s groups. Their self-defense parties have been featured on Global TV in Canada.

Chris knows that a moment of conflict can destroy lives, and the most challenging part for people is to use simple, but effective communication during a conflict to de-escalate the situation. So, he wrote this book to extend the reach of his important message. His expertise and training not only teach others how to avoid violence, but he also focuses on the psychological, behavioral, and emotional aspects.

When he isn’t working on his business, he enjoys being a coffee snob and “Grampy” to his two granddaughters.

He hopes everyone learns what to do in a conflict so they can get home to what matters most: their family.
