***Warning: Contains strong language, violence and scenes of an explicit nature***

Most fairy tales end with a happily ever after.

This is not a fairy tale. He is not her Prince Charming about to whisk her away into the sunset. This is a story about betrayal, lust, desire and, ultimately, revenge...

And revenge can only lead to one thing.

He was my stranger, my visitor, my shadow in the corner of my room. He stalked me, watched me, knew everything about me. But all I could do was sit and wait. I waited for him to visit me night after night. He was becoming my addiction, my craving, my obsession. He knew every inch of me, but I knew nothing about him.

His calls himself Lotus and, as crazy as it sounds, I think I’m falling in love.

I wanted to take her, possess her, dominate her, and ruin her. I wanted to ravish her, please her, and consume her until I couldn’t take much more of her.

She will want me to kiss her. She will want me to hold her all night so that she feels a connection with me. I would make it so that she would seek me out in the dark. The one that satisfies her ultimate fantasy. A stranger who sneaks into her room. Someone who gives her the ultimate pleasure, but also seeks to give her ultimate pain. Pain she has never had to endure. Pain that will eat away at her until there is nothing left.

She was my nemesis, I was her lotus. And payback was a bitch.

For the past three years, Tyler has been receiving visits from a stranger. He enters her home whenever she is not there, and turns her toilet paper around the other way. Tyler should be concerned, yet she feels some sort of comfort knowing he is watching out for her. Now the visits have escalated and the stranger, Lotus, comes to Tylah late at night shrouded in mystery. Tylah has never felt this passionate about anyone before. Their intimate encounters are the best she has ever had, but what she doesn't know is that Lotus is not a total stranger at all. He is someone from her past, and is hell bent on revenge.
DEVIANT is the first book in a series and the ending has a little bit of a cliffhanger. there is a subplot which is very moving.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cliffhanger warning 1 December 2015
By Kindle Customer - Published on

This would have been a 5 star rating had it not ended with a cliffhanger. I was engrossed in this book from the first chapter. I read no where that it ended with a cliffhanger. I was prepared to have all the angst and drama unfolded in this book. But no, we have to read another book to get there. So frustrating. This book was so good and had so many layers to it. However, I can't give it 5 stars when I feel so let down. 😠

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark, Twisted, Amazing, Deviant 5 April 2015
By Ishabelle Manalo - Published on

There are books that disturb you too much you end up giving them a five-star rating becaus you can't believe that the author wrote something so indescribable that you just could not stop reading it.

I've come across a few of those books myself. This book right here is one of those books. I couldn't process everything at once, but the suspense kept me reading on and on until I found that I was already at the last few paragraphs.

I can't believe the suspense in this book. While it mainly concentrated on the deviant relationship between the hero and the heroine, at the back of the reader's mind, he'd be asking himself who's the real antagonist? Who was responsible for the hero hating the heroine so much?

The twists at the end was unbelievable. You may have had a feeling about who it was all along, but the revelation will still get your brain spinning. The ending was actually great. I get that many people were disappointed with how it was ended, but that was how this book was supposed to be - a dark story that is never going to be a fairy tale.

There is a second book, Redemption. I am excited to start reading it tonight. I hope that this book will satisfy more readers. Deviant was not supposed to have a second book. It was supposed to really end the way it ended. However people clamored for more, so I hope the second book will have the closure that I'm sure most of the readers out there are looking for. Personally, even if it never had a second book, I still loved the ending just the way it was.

Jaimie Roberts has successfully written a story that readers will not easily forget. It is a story that's as dark and twisted as the hero, but it is also as hopeful and as unwavering as the heroine. Deviant is truly a book that will bother you and puzzle your mind. This is a testament to just how talented the author is. I know I will always be looking out for her books because she always delivers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing!! 9 November 2014
By G Baines - Published on

Even though the POV switches kept the book somewhat interesting, ultimately it just became too repetitive as the POV changes just told the same story... there wasn't enough dialogue, too many words used to say the same thing. This book was a disappointment because after such fantastic reviews, I expected more.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stalker Santa too dark for me. 14 January 2016
By Book-obsessed mom - Published on

I couldn't finish this novel. I'm just glad it was a freebie. The writing and plausibility alone left my head spinning. At one point I suspected she was being stalked by Santa, with her leaving cookies behind for him to snack on everytime he broke into her house...Not for my taste, but if you like dark, twisted romances you might enjoy this book.
