Does what it says

After reading reviews about this I was fairly confident this would work.. and it did.
The software allows me to choose how the unit reacts to Pokestops (you can choose to automatically spin Pokestops as you pass them, or not). This is great, as it allows you to focus on just catching Pokemon as you travel whilst collecting much needed accessories from those stops you pass automatically.
You can also choose if the unit tries to catch 1. already caught pokemon and/or 2. new pokemon. Because it works the same way as a regular Go Plus, it will only throw standard Pokeballs (not Great or Ultra). This means if you run out of regular Pokeballs it won't continue to catch Pokemon even if you have Great/Ultra balls in your bag. It also means it doesn't always catch a Pokemon, especially ones that would have needed a Great/Ultra ball with a decent throw.
If you have the device set to catch Pokemon AND auto-spin Pokestops, it gives priority to catching Pokemon. This means if you're moving and there's a lot of Pokemon around to catch, it won't always get to spin the Pokestop before it goes out of range.
The OLED screen will briefly show an animation explaining what is going on... the included instructions explain what each graphic means (takes time to learn the most common ones but you'll soon understand what is happening). My unit randomly disconnects every so often from my phone, clicking on the Pokeball icon in the game and pressing the devices button quickly reconnects it and it continues as expected. So far battery life has been excellent.
I'm really pleased with this, if you think you'll be away from charging it for long periods I'd recommend the slightly dearer/bigger "Ranger" version, which is the same only with a larger battery.
