Solid bike. Great value for the money. Easy for my grandchild to maneuver. Nice color too. Definitely recommend. Much nicer than some chain store bikes. Doesn’t come with a kick stand so don’t forget to buy one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality mountain bike for children
Reviewed in the United States on 27 November 2020
Great mountain bike for beginner and experience mountain bikers that offer some features found in some higher end brands

* Build Quality & Design *
I was surprise how lightweight this bike is. I've smaller bikes which weigh more than this. The main reason will be an alloy frame as oppose off steel frame used in cheaper bikes. Most of the parts are of good quality, handle bar, brake levers, seat and seat post. Some of them are fine, not bad but not great like the paddles and light reflectors. The color finish is really good and the frame construction and design feels like a grown ups kind of bike. Front shock is adjustable which is a feature you won't usually find in kids bike. Brakes on the other hand are older style rim brakes which is not good as disc brake and considering the price point I would expect at least a rear disc brake. It seems there is an infrastructure on the fork to install a disc brake. Stem is surprisingly long which mean the reach from the seat to the handlebar might be an issue even if your kid is in the correct height but got shorter hands. The supplied training wheels seems like cheap quality (I didn't have to use them anyway). Gears are by Shimano, known very good quality brand for bicycles gears though I have some concern for the plastic (I think) red gear wheel durability.

* Assembly *
Straightforward assembly, it will take about 20-30min out of the box if you are comfortable with assembling bike. Probably a bit longer if you are not. there are no instructions but its pretty self explanatory. Attach the handlebar (in the right direction), Attach the front wheel using the supplied quick release skewer (again not a feature found on kids bike usually). Attach the paddles and light reflectors. Attach the seat post with the quick release lever. Pump the wheels, tighten some bolts and off you go. The bike I got had the brakes pretty much aligned with the correct pressure and the gears where aligned so didn't had to deal with them but adjustment might be require so extra time might be needed.

* Usage *
My kid said they are really comfortable, light and easy to manoeuvre. He really like all the extra feature he didn't have in his previous bike like 2 hand brakes, from shock, gears. It took sometime but he got used to the twist style gear change and he like he can see what gear he Is on. I wish they scrap the front derailleur and include disc brakes instead. The tires are good for hard and loose on hard and dry surfaces which for my kid level is good but some people might want to upgrade to more advance tires.

Pros: Quality, Alloy frame, Weight, Gears, Features, Design
Cons: Plastic paddles, Red gear wheel, Brakes

Overall its a great bike with plenty of features found on "grown ups" bikes which justify the price. Its a great way to introduce your kids to mountain biking. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth ride with good suspension & strong brakes.

_____

-The bike's light and responsive.
-Well-padded & comfortable seat.
-Has 10 different levels of seat height adjustment with markings.
-After tuning, shifts are crisp and predictable.
-Adjustable front suspension leads to a well-dampened ride.
-Front & rear brakes are quiet with good stopping power.
-Easy to adjust handlebar height using the provided spacers.
_____
*Neutral:

-Wish the handlebar can go up a bit higher.
-Front brake pad came misaligned.
_____
*Cons:

-Both the front & rear derailleurs required tuning corrections.

This lightweight and stylish 20" bike from CyclingDeal is great. Thanks to the aluminum frame, it's lighter than the steel 16" bicycle it's replacing for my 6-yo daughter. The color and finish look and feel high-quality, and it looks like it'll ward off chips and scratches very well long-term.

Since most of the bike parts arrived preassembled, the rest of the pieces were easy to put together (pedals, seat post, seat, light reflectors); I didn't even have to look at the provided manual.

The rear brake pads were seated correctly and caused no rubbing. One of the front brake pads, however, was set incorrectly and it was rubbing against the tire. In addition, the front brake cable tension was set too high, resulting in the tire rubbing against the brake pads and not allowing the wheel to freely spin. It was an easy fix that didn't require much time.

As for the shifting performance, I ran into a couple of problems. The chain kept on rubbing against the front derailleur (FD) and required L- and H-limit screw adjustments, as well as resetting the FD cable tension.

The shifting performance out on the back also required tuning of the H-limit screw and cable tension, as the chain would skip over the same gear consistently.

Once everything was adjusted and tuned, the bicycle was a dream to ride for both my 6-yo daughter & my mom who's short (she's 5' 1"). Thanks to the easily adjustable seat and handlebar height, both of them could take turns and enjoy the smooth and well-dampened ride.

The front & rear brakes have great stopping power, and the front suspension did a great job absorbing bumps and cracks. The drivetrain was smooth and caused slight noises only when the chain was in its most extreme angle positions.

The shifter was easy enough for my daughter to learn and figure out and she's been practicing mostly on the middle chainring and going through 1-6 as needed. She's very happy because the lower gearing will make hill climbing much easier on her.

Overall, I rate the bike 4.5 stars for its great looks, its relatively light weight, and comfortable and smooth ride. It would've been 5 stars if I didn't have to fix the shifting issues on the back and the chain rub on the front.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very smooth bike
Reviewed in the United States on 28 November 2020
This 18 speed, 20" mountain bike is one of the smoothest bike I have ride. It was able to handle my weight without issue so for my 10 year old at 5 feet tall this was perfect.
The front wheel shock easily absorb any bump on the road or dirt path. The front and back brakes works without skidding so it stops fast. Front wheel you can easily snap it off if you need to especially to prevent someone stealing your front wheels.
18 speed shift gears works very smoothly when changing gears. The bike is very light and you can find the center of the gravity right at the front end of the seat and left with a finger.
Assembly took me less then 30 minutes and not much to fine tune except finding the best level for the seat to fit your kid. Normally you want the handle bar and seat at sams level or your kids waist level.
We rode everyday since we got it from echo lake, Santa Monica pier, Venice, and no issue so far. Wheels holds air very well, had not notice any air escaping since day one after we filled it to its recommend it psi.
He will be riding this for many years to come. If he doesn't want to ride it I will.
