The premise of this book is decent: two souls bound together through all of time who keep finding each other, but only have a short period of time to try to break the curse that will separate them (by killing one of them) until the next life takes over and they meet again. And only the one who will die on Halloween remembers their past lives, so has to try to convince his or her soulmate of what must be done to seek to break the curse.
So, whilst the basic plot is interesting, I'm not at all sure about the execution. There are just some major oddities thrown in: Lou and Jessie speak (and reference - "an early morning photo shoot"?) as though they're living in the present, but their story must be past; Charlotte - a sister we know and hear nothing about until right near the end, Amy - a friend who never acts like one (just like a shrieking, whining pain in the backside) and Eric, the pointless man to hate. And the melodrama was also rather excessive - I wanted to tone it right down!
I didn't pay a lot so can't really complain, but this just could have been so much better...
