Poppy is a matchmaker through the power of words and the one all her friends go to. Through disaster relationships to quick flings, Poppy never stops. That is until her friendship and matchmaker job with Dylan changes and they realise they have an attraction toward each other.
The romantic comedy has POV’s from both of the main characters, with the main focus being from Poppy.
Also this is a great starter to the series which builds up the characters backstories. Overall you get a feel for some of the future main characters in the Cupids series, whilst also having this story end on a HFN.
Poppy Hathaway is a modern day Cyrano de Bergerac. Writing love letters for her clients, staging romantic dates, and anything else that helps her clients get out of their own way and give love a chance. Her best customer (and also her worst) is frequent flier, Dylan Griffin. SHe helps him reel in the ladies and also helps him let them down easy. Dylan isn't one for longevity in a relationship but he is honest and open about it so no harm no foul. When Poppy's scheming on his behalf opens his eyes to what really matters to him when it comes to affairs of the heart can he manage to get out of his own way before he loses her? Loved this! Enjoy!
Deciding that he needs more than just a love note he asks Poppy to come to his VIP soft opening event to help land his ultimate girl, the one he has been longing for since he was a stuttering high school student. Poppy is starting to believe that maybe just maybe Dylan and his dream girl are not the perfect match.
When Dylan and Poppy continue to have heart stopping moments together, they start something that stops before it even begins. Can Dylan and Poppy get their act together before they walk away from the best thing that ever happen to each other.
I enjoyed reading Cupids Anonymous, it was light and easy to read leaving me wanting more from this couple. I really hope that we to see more from these minor characters in the future.

One thing that is guaranteed when I pick up a Lila Monroe book is that there will be plenty of laughs. Poppy had me laughing throughout this book. She ended up by being one of the funniest and best written heroines I have read this year.
But the thing that I liked most about this book is that Dylan and Poppy became friends first. I guess with the way this story pans out they were pretty much forced to be.
This seems to be the start of a new series and I cannot wait to read more from Lila.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I don't know how Lila Monroe does it, but each new book has a fresh feel to it. I've read other rom-com's where the characters and/or situations start to feel very 'samey', but I never get that feel with this author. I would have read Cupids Anonymous in one sitting if sheer exhaustion hadn't made it impossible to focus on the plot.
If I had one wish, I'd love to see the author shake up the standard rom-com formula of the couple breaking up over a misunderstanding before realising the error of their ways. I always know that with 35 minutes of reading time left, I'm heading for the break up. How, why and what happens after varies with each story, so it's not a huge issue. Just a little bit of me would love to see it move away from that set path.
This was just such a warm hug of a story, yes there's some angst, certainly there's lots of lust and of course (since it's a rom-com) there are plenty of laughs along the way. However whilst the emotions are there to feel and experience, you are not put through the wringer. Instead you are gently caressed by them as you take this wonderful journey of mis-haps, mayhem, love and romance.
Different slant / take on a love story
Enjoyable one for reading at the beach or pool
