The plot has two interconnected strands; the first involves the hunt for a gang of Corsican thieves who break in to Ben Hope's training facility at Le Val at Christmas to steal some armaments as, according to their intelligence, the facility would be only lightly guarded at this time. However, not all goes to plan and one of Ben's friends and several of his dogs are killed. The second strand involves the theft of an ancient cross that has been unearthed at Le Val and that could be of historical importance as well as being financially extremely valuable .
So, if you are looking for an easy to read, all-action thriller then The Crusader's Cross should certainly be to your liking (and especially so if you like your thrillers to have death defying central characters who are completely indestructible). If, like me, you have read other novels in the series featuring Ben Hope, then I can only say The Crusader's Cross is every bit as exciting and engaging as most of the earlier novels in this pulsating series. If you haven't read any of the other stories, then don't despair as this one can be easily be enjoyed as a stand alone novel.
This one is no different bad guy gets his comeuppance.
Give the Ben Hope books a try, you won't be disappointed.
I've read them all (ben hope books) from day one and although Scott's writing style has changed a bit the quality just gets better.
This book gives you action, insight, sadness and satisfaction from start to finish and I didn't want it to finish
