A rollercoaster ride of emotions, wrapped up in an intense storyline. Cruel Intentions had me laughing, crying, shouting, and feeling warm inside. There are twists and turns, and revelations I never saw coming.
I will just say that when this is called a DARK High School BullyRomance it's not a lie - there are some moments that will make you question how you view situations both in the book and real life, and one scene in particular that made even me very uncomfortable at just how dark and twisted some characters were.
The FMC Abigail is such a brave and courageous person, but sometimes I feel like her bravado is naive and over the top. However, there are moments when I feel like she could be part of who we all aim to be as she questions the way she feels and tries to figure out a way to make sense of it all in her head. What I love the MOST about her though is that she doesn't just roll over at the word "Sorry" from anyone, and my favourite part of the book is when she says... "Sorry doesn't magically make everything right... ...You're supposed to have my back. And you. Did. Nothing."
The main male characters are an interesting combination of personalities that all seem to complement one another, and there isn't just a blanket reaction from them. Instead, Siobhan Davis has taken the time to make sure each character she has interwoven into the story is its own entity, which with the amount of supporting characters we have is not an easy feat.
This story has definitely reeled me in, and I'm interested to see where it goes in the next instalment of Rydeville High Elite.
** I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for review consideration **
I wasn't really into the whole YA/ Bullyromance but WOW... this book is amazing!!! and HOLY CLIFFHANGER!!! i am NOT patiently waiting for the next book but ya'll it's a fantastic read with an awesome storyline. You wont be disappointed!!
This book has been the book everyone on social media has been talking about - from how good it is to desperately needing the next one. Yes this book ends on a cliff hanger, however for those that wait before the series has been completed, this book gives you so much to digest that I am already wanting to re-read it. This book is a bullyromance, yet so completely different from any other I've read in this mass influx of bullyromances recently. The heroine is bullied to a degree, however she isn't on her own, she doesn't back down and the people that hurt her the most? Well you'll have to read the book and see. I loved the bonus of the males point of view in the free download at the end of the book.you guys need to stop reading the reviews and start reading this book.
This book is truly something else! It’s taken me almost a week to write this review as I had to have some recovery time to peel my jaw off the floor with that cliffhanger ending! Siobhan has once again proven herself as the queen of angst and multi-layered intricate plots executed to perfection.
There was so much going on in this story! Past heartbreaks and lessons and lies and loves, all ready to become unearthed as the New Elite show up in town to challenge the generations-old control of the Old Elite. Abby is our heroine caught in the middle of the two groups. She’s put through some some seriously gut-wrenching emotional and physical pain but remains so unbelievably strong 💪🏼. She has a secret plan of her own and knows her life depends upon its success. Abby’s chemistry with Cam, leader of the New Elite, is undeniable - it sizzles away before turning into a full blown wildfire.
This storyline was dirty and delicious at times, yet highly confronting and disturbing in parts. (*Trigger warning* as it features mature content and themes that some readers may find too distressing.) If you dig bully and enemies-to-lovers romances, plots full of mystery that forever keep you guessing, loads of angst, betrayal that comes out of nowhere, authentic friendships that warm your heart, and sweet tender moments in a sea of turmoil then this is the story for you!
Be warned - this book will put you through the emotional wringer and stay with you long after you turn the last page. It was extremely addictive! I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book and rate it 4.5/5 stars! Well done Siobhan, cannot wait to see where you take this story next! the countdown to Twisted Betrayal is ON! 😱😍💥🙌🏼
WTF!! So many questions, endless mind games and an evil cliffhanger. But don't let that deter you. This book is fabulous. Strong FMC, but not so much for her to lose her femininity. Surrounded by sexy guys, nasty fathers and life shattering secrets. Cannot wait for next book.
One of my favourite tropes in a book is enemies to lovers and this book definitely ticks the box for me!
It is a bullyromance that explores some pretty dark themes and is full of plot twists.
The story was compelling and I couldn't put the book down (I read it in a day). I rarely re-read contemporary books but I will be definitely re-reading this book again, such a great start to the trilogy.
Be warned, the ending of this book ends on a major cliff hanger, luckily I only have to wait one more month until the next book is released.
I've only just started reading the high school bullyromance and I've quickly come to realise that not all bullyromances are created the same. This book was well thought out, has believable dialogue and it made me stay up all night reading it (high praise indeed - I really like my sleep). I'm looking forward to reading the next books.
