Welcome to the Kingdom of Wolves.
Careful. These alphas bite.
Alaric
Here’s the thing about alphas—we don’t submit. It’s how I ended up as a lone wolf without a pack. I refused to challenge my older brother for the alpha throne, and now I slay monsters for a living.
So the hot little redhead I just saved on my latest mission? Yeah, I have no problem taming her. Except my wolf thinks she’s my fated mate.
No, thanks. I’m good.
Only, fate has other plans for us both.
My older brother’s just been poisoned, so I’m headed back to a family I no longer know. And the gorgeous female my wolf wants to claim is in the driver’s seat beside me. Why? Because she f*cking stabbed me.
Fated mates? Yeah, more like fated hate.
Makayla
One day, you’re hunting a jackhole hybrid with a penchant for abducting women. And the next, you’re staring into the eyes of your future mate.
At least that’s what this alpha wolf seems to think.
He’s tempting, sure. But I’m not interested in anything long-term.
Sometimes, love can be worth the risk.
And sometimes, it’ll kill you.
Let the mating games begin.
Authors’ Note:Crossed Fates is a standalone shifter romance with dark undertones. Alaric is all possessive alpha wolf, and Makayla is all fiery stubborn female. Together, they’re explosive and passionate. There will be heat. There will be death. There will be biting. Enjoy.

About the authors
USA Today Bestselling Author Lexi C. Foss loves to play in dark worlds, especially the ones that bite. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and their furry children. When not writing, she’s busy crossing items off her travel bucket list, or chasing eclipses around the globe. She’s quirky, consumes way too much coffee, and loves to swim.

USA Today bestselling authors, Elle Christensen, is a lover of all things books, a hopeless romantic, and has always had a passion for writing. Between being a sappy romantic, her love of an HEA, her crazy imagination, and ok, let’s be real, her dirty mind, she fell easily into writing romance.
She’s a huge baseball fan and yet, a complete girly, girl. An obsessive reader and has a slight (hahaha! Slight? Yeah, right) addiction to signed books.
She’s married to her very own book boyfriend, an alpha male with a sexy, sweet side. He is the best inspiration,, her biggest supporter and, along with their daughter, the loves of her life. They are also incredibly patient and understanding about the fact that they have to fight the voices in her head for her attention.
I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!

We were introduced to Alaric back in Violet Slays and this book picks up right after the events in that one - like the following day right after. While searching for the bad guy from Violet Slays, Alaric comes across his mate, Makayla appearing to be locked in a cage. But appearances can be deceiving...Makayla breaks free and stabs Alaric (now who doesn't like a stabby heroine? From Blood and Ash anyone??). I won't go into much more of the storyline because I like to give you something actually worthwhile to read other than this review but can I say, after one chapter with Makayla, she might be my new favourite of Lexi's female characters taking over Eve from Lexi's Dark Provenance series (which if you haven't read you should totally do that).
There's plenty of action and a mystery to be solved as well as 'action' if you know what I mean. One thing that I really liked about this was there was no insta-love. Alaric and Makayla weren't together a long time with everything going on in the story but they still had a real connection. A connection that they both knew would develop into love which is so much more believable than announcing their undying love after having only know each other for a short time. Yeah I see the stupidity of this - shifter/vampires/magic totally believable but undying love in a few days totally unrealistic!
Now because I like to be honest in these reviews, I will say that I felt the ending dragged on a little. We had the climatic action scene where the bad guy is defeated and I still had 10% of the book left to go. I completely understand the logic behind this because it was setting up a heap of stuff for future books and I don't know if I struggled through this part because my husband was watching Invincible on Amazon Prime at the same time as I was reading and I kept getting distracted.
Anyway, this book is still very much worth the read. I received an ARC and because a Lindt bunny is eyeballing me at the moment, I have left an honest review. Hey Lindt bunny...GET INSIDE ME!!!
Makayla and Alaric find each other in a dungeon of a bar. Alaric is there to avenge a bloodbath and Makayla is looking for someone who has gone missing😢 However, Makayla has some secrets about her origins and Alaric is certain that they are fated mates....now to convince the stubborn female🤔However, whilst this is happening it appears someone is taking out the leaders of the Bitten Packs, including Alaric’s brother😭
So much great action in this book, along with some super interesting theories and characters that I was enthralled from the word go😍 Looking forward to the next book and also going back and reading about Violet is next on my list of to reads😁 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review❤️
Crossed Fates is the first book co-written by Lexi and Elle and it’s pretty food read.. it was good I struggled a bit few pages in but once I started to get into the book it was getting really good..
At the end of this story I was definitely wanting more

The beginning of the story was a little slow for me, and I’ll admit that it took me a couple chapters to get into it. However once the story started building I was really sucked in.
It was great to read Alaric’s story because he intrigued me so much in Violet Slays and I knew his story was going to be a fab read and it really was. His reluctance to engage with Makayla at the beginning really frustrated me, - even though he deserved it - but the sexual tension was building slowly and I can see where the authors were going with this.
I loved how interconnected all the secondary characters were and I cannot wait for their stories to come to fruition.
Highly recommend this read!
