Product Description

Review for Cross Check:
This is the funniest story I've read in a long time. We follow along as Cressida helps family and friends solve some annoying issues. How does she do that, you ask? Murder, pure and simple...sometimes not so simple. The ending of this book two of the series is dramatic for all, but especially for Cressida.
Cressida Barker-Powell, spoiled society girl and recent widow is back, and back with a vengeance. She is making a list and cross-checking it twice. If you’re on her list, you’re dead. No ifs. No buts. No maybes. She’s making the world a better place for the few people she cares about, and if someone’s got to die to make that happen, so be it.

But with a new man in her life, a baby on the way and two small children to care for, it’s not easy to fit in her murderous activities. At the same time, she yearns to be a better person for the sake of her impromptu family. If only she could just get rid of a few more unpleasant people, then she could get back to being the earth-mother and matchmaker she knows is her true gift.
Find out just how Cressida juggles poisonings and suffocations with ante-natal clinic appointments and the school run in this, the second of the Posh Hits trilogy.

As in the first book, Criss Cross, Cressida uses her journal to plot murder and analyse her feelings.
Buy Cross Check to continue the saga of murder, romance and what to read at bedtime to your small stepdaughter.

About the Author

Caron Allan was born in Kent in the south of England and then moved to Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire before her family relocated to Brisbane, Australia. After living there for five eventful years, which provided plenty of material for Caron's novels and short stories, the family returned to the UK in 2002. Although Caron mainly writes in the mystery/crime genre she also enjoys dabbling in fantasy fiction. Married with two grown up children and now living in Derbyshire, England, Caron previously worked as a railway ticket clerk, a classroom assistant, a secondhand bookshop assistant, an archivist, and a University administrator. When not plotting how to kill people (for the books, of course!) Caron can often be found trawling the aisles of her local grocery stores in pursuit of everyday items with lethal potential. Other interests include literary studies, history, cats, cooking, gardening, family tree research and chatting on Facebook. She self-published her first eBook, Criss Cross, in January 2013 and is currently writing a sequel, to be called Cross Check, which will be published as an eBook and in paperback early in 2014. The third volume of the Posh Hits Trilogy, Check Mate is due out in 2015 A further series of cozy mysteries will be released in 2014 featuring amateur detective Miss Burkett. Set in Britain in the mid-1960s, Josephine Burkett is a young woman trying to make her way in the world following an inheritance that enables her to pursue an interest in crime detection, and is based on a character in the Miss Silver novels written by Patricia Wentworth. In addition there are two stand-alone novels in the pipeline.
