Product Description

Ten years ago Janiver Benoit stole a kiss from the meanest boy in school.

He never forgot.

Senior year.

One minute before the tardy bell rang, Bane Illes would slip through the door.

He never smiled.

He never spoke.

Each day, that dark, dangerous boy gave Janiver Benoit a glance. And when she could not take another quiet stare, or the warmth that look sent over her skin, she took from Bane something he’d never give freely—one lingering, soul knocking kiss.

Ten years later, her family needs her, and Janiver will have to face the one person she promised herself she’d never see again.

The dangerous wizard that might make leaving Crimson Cove the last thing she wants to do.

I finished reading this a few days ago, I've found it difficult just what to write for this review. I will try to put to words just how WICKED this book was. 'Crimson Cove' is my first ever Eden Butler book, shocking yes I know, but what a start for me. I went in very unsure what to expect & within the first chapter I was enthralled with Janiver & Bane. From the very start I became addicted to what I was reading, I do FLOVE paranormal books & 'Crimson Cove' just added to my paranormal genre addiction!

This book was filled to the brim with secrets, love, family, magic, friends, betrayal, witches & so much more, if your a paranormal fan, then trust me you HAVE to read this book. I quickly fell in love with Janiver & Bane both for very different reasons, Janiver for her strength & Bane... well I can't really say without giving away the ending.

So after popping my Eden Butler virginity on 'Crimson Cove' I can honestly say I'm looking forward to what comes next & reading the books I've missed from Eden ASAP.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love is a powerful magic 17 March 2016

Janiver has sacrificed. She sacrificed her heart for the good of the Cove then left. She couldn't stand to see the object of her desire day in and out and suffer that loss each time. Bane, a young wizard from one of the oldest and most powerful covens, knows his duty but is drawn to Janiver like a moth to a flame. He doesn't understand that immense pull he feels toward her. He doesn't understand why she left. He doesn't remember their last moments together. Because Janiver used her magic and took that memory from him, for him, for the good of the Cove.
This was great! This tale of love and sacrifice and magic contained a magic all its own and certainly wove a spell around me, transporting me to Crimson Cove where mystical power hung heavy in the air and honor and duty to the Cove was a way of life regardless of any personal desires that might be less than beneficial to the covens living there. I loved the glimpses of Janiver and Bane as teenagers, confused about and fighting the attraction they felt for each other. I also enjoyed the references to some of the small towns in that southern portion of Louisiana and recognized many of them. Bane's name was perfect. I could visualize him - silent, brooding, potentially dangerous when crossed - just by the sound of his name. He was a delight to read about and made me want more. More Bane, more Bane. But mostly, I appreciated how love can be the most powerful magic of all.
4.0 out of 5 stars Witches, Warlocks, shifters and supernatural highway lines 8 June 2016

At first I didn't know what was going on but as the story unfolded it got were it was easy to understand. Depending on the chapter you have to read carefully because it will be a memory from years ago, just be on the lookout for that. Great story, like Romeo and Juliet, Bane is the forbidden fruit, high Warnock needing to marry a wan from their other founding families but Jani was a witch from a small covering of younger bloodlines and neither could they fall in love together.but the heart wants what the heart wants and these two were destined to be together no matter what her father pulls nor his uncle threatens with.even takes a were panther to bring Janine back to the Cove to safe her father's business and save the town no matter if people bring her back to break her heat all over again where Bane and his soon to be wife his there.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this story... 8 January 2016

I read this book when the author provided me with an advanced copy. I enjoy paranormal but haven't read anything I enjoyed as much as Crimson Cove in a very long time.

Jani and Bane are great characters and I love their interaction and story. Watching them overcome the obstacles in their, lies, deception...and coming together brings about a satisfying completion to this story.

I see a Kim Harrison influence with her use of ley lines as part of the plot and enjoy how she uses this witch reference. Someone unfamiliar with this plot line might have difficulty but I didn't find that a problem.

The story is intriguing and different from Butler's past stories which were more in the contemporary romance genre. I have known Eden for many years and am happy to see her expanding into another genre with her writing.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good 8 September 2016

I enjoyed the storyline, but felt like the plot was hard to follow. I'm all for standalone books, but I didn't remember who half of the characters were because so many were being introduced to quickly. I followed most of the book, but a lot of the time I didn't really know what was going on and just hoped it would all click later. That being said, I did like the story - I thought it was a great idea. I didn't feel super connected to the characters. But, I'd probably recommend it anyways.
4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful chemistry 11 March 2016

Usually stories of witches don't hold as much interest for me. But this one was really outstanding in storytelling and writing. A story of loving someone but having to give up that love because of what you've told by everyone - not good enough (social class), must sacrifice for the greater good of the community (self versus all), better for him because he's on a different path (sacrifice based on misunderstanding the other's true desires and goals). Those buried emotions come rip-roaring to the surface and must be dealt with, when H and h are put onto a path to save their hometown. Truths are revealed. There was wonderful magical chemistry between the characters,
