What I LIKE about it:
1. Incredible durability— I got my first one 10 years ago and it still looks brand new. I really might be passing these cast iron round Casseroles to my kids, no doubt in that.
2. Food cooks incredibly well — cooking on medium or low with a bit of oil will give you the best results. Risotto or beef stroganoff, for example, come out very juicy and tender and rice is fluffy and just amazing.
3. Non-stick — Cooking on medium or low l is best if you don’t want your food to stick. High heat can make food stick, but many recipes rarely require high heat.
Pro TIP, if your food ends up sticking just pour some hot water and wait 10-15 mins, and it will just come right off. It’s best to use soft silicon or plastic/ wooden spatulas, and avoid washing with abrasive products, and once washed dry well as is this is cast iron. It’s best to store them *completely dry*, which is recommended for any cast iron product. This is what helped me keep my first Le Creuset good as new. Additionally, these can be washed in a dishwasher, but washing it is so easy, i personally prefer to hand wash, and that, of course, helps to retain this shiny beautiful colour. If you follow these simple steps, these incredible Le Creuset cast iron products will last for many years to come.
Overall, it’s just a joy to use this Le Creuset casserole. I’ve been using their cast iron products for more than 10 years now and just love and swear by them. Lastly, this is the best price I’ve found on the market (online and in stores), and overall, I just couldn’t recommend them enough!
UPDATE: I’ve had a few cases when food badly burnt and stuck to the bottom, and it’s just not my favourite thing to deal with at all. So quickest and most effective thing to do is to add a cup of hot water with an equal part white wine vinegar and to boil on slow for 5-10mins. Everything slides right off. I always worry at the sight of burnt food, but this trick is a life saviour.
