Kennedy is a bit of a gothic rebel with her tattoos and black makeup, shoes, and clothing. She does what she wants and really doesn’t care if anyone likes it or not. She works at the Boys of the Bayou by keeping everything and everyone in line. Being the baby of the family and Leo’s favorite could be a red flag for most men but not Bennett.
He’s a rich lawyer who has SHINY shoes, fancy suits and his dad is a Senator! His family could not be more different from the Landry’s if they tried. But that isn’t stopping Bennett. He has been fascinated by Kennedy since the first minute he laid eyes on her. She acts as though she isn’t interested yet she finds reasons to call and argue with him about “business stuff.”
The Landry’s are all about being all up in each other’s business and telling each other what to do, but they also have hearts the size of Louisiana and would do anything for you. If you have read any of this series and have not fallen in love with the Landry’s, then I don’t think this book will be for you. I also think you might be a little insane.
Erin, once again, knocked it smooth out of the park with another funny, romantic, and captivating story that you won’t want to end.

Truthfully, I’ve been dying for Kennedy and Bennett's book. The glimpses we’ve had of them so far have been sassy, snarky and hilarious, so I knew their story would be epic, but this was so much better than I could have imagined! OMGee, the way these two dance around each other is a delicious kind of agony that builds the most tantalizing anticipation. These two snap and snip and quarrel, and it only serves to turn up the tension and heat until they finally face facts, give in to their feelings for each other, and singe everything within a ten mile radius.
We can’t really talk about any of these stand-alone books in this series without acknowledging the Landry clan. The big, loud, crazy, interfering, endearing, delightful Landrys. With quirks for days and opinions whether or not you want to hear them, this rambunctious, larger-than-life family will make you want to move to Autre, LA, just to be in the Landrys’ orbit. Somehow, each book in this series is better than the last, and these crazy Cajuns permanently own a huge chunk of my heart.
If you’re new to this series, Kennedy and Bennett’s story is a great place to start, but I’ll warn you. Once you get a taste of these bayou boys (and gals), it’s exactly like potato chips and you won’t be able stop with just one. The setting will intrigue you, the characters will enchant you, and their story will captivate you, so that you’ll finish the book with a happy sigh while eagerly anticipating your next encounter with these beloved characters. Do yourself a big favor and escape to Autre today!

Bennett is from a wealthy, political family in Savannah, GA. The family plans on him running for office and being just another member of the family to get elected and then run the state's government. He was following the selected path when he suddenly finds out that his father has been protecting criminals and destroying the planet so he breaks from the family career path and sets out to do his own thing.
He and Kennedy are total opposites and have been very attracted to one another. Kennedy throws up road blocks to show just how tough she is but Bennett is determined to win her over. He takes her to Savannah for a week-end and there their lives take a big turn.
Of all of these books about the bayou this is not my favorite. I believe it is because I didn't care for Kennedy. I love the heroes and all the stories but this one just didn't do it for me. I didn't like that she had to have her way or make everyone else miserable. And everyone gives in to her. Just wasn't my thing. I'm sure it is just a personal opinion and the book will do very well. Just a matter of personal taste, nothing wrong with the story.
I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 10/1/2019
