Product Description

Jasmine Taveras is the reason Sarge Purcell grabbed his six-string and bailed the hell out of New Jersey four years ago. She's the fuel for every song he's ever written-each one laced with bitter, hard-edged, hungry lust. Now, with his hugely successful band on temporary hiatus, Sarge is determined to prove to Jasmine that this "kid" turned into every inch the man she's always needed...

Men are slim pickings for a single factory girl in Hook, New Jersey...until tall, broad-shouldered hotness walks-or rather storms-into Jasmine's life. Sarge's return shouldn't affect her this way. He's her best friend's much younger kid brother, and the kind of rough, gritty, sexiness Jasmine has no right to taste for herself. Even if he lets her.

But lust is a blinding, insatiable force. And when it crashes, it will take both Sarge and Jasmine down with it...

Each book in the Made in Jersey series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

Book #1 Crashed Out
Book #2 Thrown Down

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite, but still a worth a read 9 December 2015

One thing you can always count on from a Tessa Bailey book is strong, alpha men with a penchant for dirty talk ... and I mean dirty. It's her signature, and one of the reasons I love her work so much. She definitely delivered a dirty-talking alpha man in Sarge with Crashed Out, but at the expense of a well fleshed out storyline. I feel she's been relying too much on explicit sex and dirty talk in her books lately to draw an audience instead of actually telling a story. I much prefer her earlier work (the Line of Duty series, specifically). That's not to say I disliked this book or any of her current work, I just wish she would back off on so much sex and work on developing her characters and story more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot and Sticky Sweet! 9 December 2015
By Kimberly Addison - Published on

Hotter than hot Sarge is back in town, after a 4 year absence touring with his insanely popular rock band. He needs a break from touring and needs to reconnect with his sister and the niece he hasn't met yet. But, most of all he needs to see if Jasmine, the woman he has obsessed over since he was a teenager, still has an effect on him. Jasmine had big dreams of becoming a singer herself, but ended up working in the factory like most of the folks in Hook, NJ. She is taken aback to the changes in Sarge, he is no longer the young boy she used to babysit. Things quickly heat up between these two, but their relationship has it's issues. She is almost 30 and he is only 22. Does age really matter when it comes to love? Will Sarge's career get in the way of what he wants from Jasmine? Read and see!

The love scenes are combustible, I mean toe curling goodness! But, more than that, this story had a sweetness about it. Sarge is so genuine and loves with his whole heart. There was an imbalance of feelings between the two, I felt Sarge loved Jasmine way more than the other way around until the end. I love an older woman/younger man romance, they always melt my butter. The supporting cast of characters is great in this book, and I already see many possible spin-offs from this story!

Tessa always brings it, I know when I start a Tessa Bailey book, the ending will leave a smile on my face! I love her heroes, they are always alpha to the core, but with a heart of gold. Her heroines always strong and capable, no shrinking violets here! This is just a great book to curl up with on a cold night, but I highly recommend you are not alone when you read it, if you know what I mean (waggling eyebrows) :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fall in Love all over again 8 December 2015

Crashed Out is Tessa Bailey’s latest. It’s also the first in her new series called Made in Jersey. Crashed Out opens with Sarge being dropped off at his sister’s house which had been the house he’d grown up in by his manager James.

We soon find out that Sarge hasn’t been home since he left after high school, and pretty much never looked back well physically anyway. The only problem this never looking back you never know what s*** storm you’re walking into when you finally return. Sarge soon finds out that things aren’t as good as he thought with his family. Not only is he meeting his niece for the first time his sister won’t let him in the house.

As Sarge tries to figure out his next step, he finds himself in a bar helping the one person he wants out of his system. The reason he ran from Hook and never looked back. Jasmine.

Jasmine is seven years Sarge’s senior. She’s also River, Sarge’s older sister’s best friend. This spitfire puts up every kind of wall she can to hide the attraction she now feels for a man she used to babysit and is her best friends little brother. Though he’s not so little anymore. In this respect Sarge reminds me of my little brother, he’s now 6’3 and yet being ten years younger I still call him my little brother. Poor guys.

When Sarge and Jasmine get pushed together because of River not letting Sarge in his childhood home, Sarge is determined to finally get Jasmine out of his system the only way he can, because writing songs about her hasn’t helped. Yep he’s going to screw her out of his head, heart and anything else he can come up with.

As Sarge works his magic, Jasmine lets down her guard a little at a time, yet her insecurities are still obstacles Sarge will have to over come. In someways Sarge is learning Jasmine all over again because when he left she didn’t have the insecurities. She was fearless. Four years later she’s no longer fearless.

As always I love Tessa’s work. She creates characters we can relate to in someway. Most are down to earth even when they come from money. Take Sarge even though he’s this big “rock god” he still remembers where he came from and doesn’t let it go to his head which is saying something for a twenty two year old. The parts of Crashed Out where we see River and Sarge’s relationship so reminded me of my little brother and myself. Granted Helioboy isn’t a “rock god” but I did help take care of the man when he was a kid. So even though we are states/oceans/countries apart I still want to look out for him.

And this is what I mean by Tessa created a story her fans and other readers can relate too. On the flip side this story is Sarge and Jasmine’s story and as will all of Tessa’s novels the heat is there. Make sure you’re significant other is near by when you read those scenes. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Christmas-time romance for those wanting sugar, spice, and everything real tight. 8 December 2015

I'm still pinching myself about getting to read Crashed Out early. Tessa is one of my favorite authors. Her books are an automatic purchase any time I see them listed on Amazon. I was thrilled by the chance to step into Sarge and Jasmine's world and give a review.

For previous Bailey readers I'd peg Made in Jersey series as a combination of Line of Duty and Broke and Beautiful. The sweetness and playfulness of the super group combined with the intensity and uber-hotness of Line of Duty.

Sarge absolutely blew me away with his . . . everything. Hot, endearing, giving, confident, sweet and endless other amazing adjectives. I have a huge soft spot for the guys who try to take care of those around them, and spoil them. Sarge meeting his niece melted me and his car interlude with Jasmine was nearly supernova. Sarge wasn't perfect, having a few issues with anger, leaving people, and trying to "fix" things that weren't necessarily broken. But honestly he was about as perfect as anyone can get.

Jasmine required a little more warming up to. I loved her attitude and protectiveness over her life/ the people she loved. I was a bit frustrated she wouldn't let Sarge in, mainly because I could see his point of view and how much he felt for her. Watching Jasmine's confidence grow was interesting. Seeing her journey from bitterness her dream didn't come true, to acceptance having everything she really wanted sent a good message. Failing doesn't mean the end.

Together, they were more than explosive. I can't wait for Tessa to do a check-in with those two someday. The ending was feel-good and a little sappy, but I totally ate it up. I'm excited for the next part of the series, a novella starting James and Lita. There was such tension from these two spitfires. I cannot wait. Of course I'm very interested in what will happen to River, Sarge's sister, in the next book. Someone is going to have a lot of groveling to do.

Basically, pick up this book! Sarge's sweetness will warm you up better than warm blankets and cocoa. He'll be your newest book boyfriend, guaranteed!

Teaser Lines: " Sarge muttered something in his sleep and turned over on the bed. Everything south of Jasmine’s breastbone tugged. Don’t look…don’t look…

She looked. And her chin fell."

See you real soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Holy Hotness 7 April 2016
By BuckeyeGirl - Published on

Holy Hotness! I had to take a cold shower after this book.:) I’ve followed Tessa Bailey’s career with Entangled because I fell in love with her writing style and characters from book one. So, when asked to review Thrown Down, the second book in her Made in Jersey series, I thought-I’d better read book one first. I purchased Crashed Out on Amazon and fell into it right away.

Coming from a small industrial type town in the Midwest, I could easily relate to Jasmine’s view of her factory job and feeling “stuck” in Hook, New Jersey. Some places have that stifling feeling and you know even know it growing up that if you don’t get out early, you won’t get out. Because her singing career didn’t pan out, Jasmine Traveras settled for a factory job much like the rest of the town. She seemed to lose her self-esteem and her drive, settling for whatever was thrown her way. In walks Sarge Purcell.

Sarge grew up in Hook, but he was one of the “lucky” ones. He hightailed it out of there at eighteen and made a name for himself in a rock band-Old News. But the band is taking a break and it’s Christmastime, so he heads home to Hook to visit his sister River and niece, whom he’s yet to meet. Under all the guilt of abandoning his family is a strong amount of hope that his lifelong crush and sister’s best friend, Jasmine will be around. Every song he’s written has her name all over it and he needs to work her out of his system.

From the get-go, the attraction between these two is through the roof. Jasmine tries hard to deny it because she’s seven years older than Sarge. She used to babysit him for God’s sake. But she can’t resist his charms, his desire and the way he makes her feel so much like a woman again. The sex scenes are incredible. I mean seriously, you will need a fan on high speed or a cold bath while reading. Sarge is domineering and sexy, yet his soft and sensitive side is impossible for him to hide. Their banter is fun. I laughed many times throughout. I would have enjoyed a little more background between these two. But even without it, the story had me unable to stop turning pages until the end.

I give Crashed Out 4.5 smoking hot silver buckles. And I look forward to finishing Thrown Down with Sarge’s sister River. Another spectacular job, Tessa!:)
