Absolutely frustrating and fun at the same time, honestly if you don't get your timing right for boosting in this game consider yourself last.
While I see everyone saying its better than Mario Kart 8, the truth is that it's not as it suffer from a mechanic known as rubber-banding. Basically no matter how good a lead you take the computer is always magically pushed to be right behind you. Hence it is challenging and fun but you have to be at your best.
Also while Mario Kart doesn't have the flawed rubber-banding, it's frustration is items which is something this game has balanced out. Another horrible thing the developer has done is put in micro transactions (pay real money to unlock things) which is absolutely not right but at the same time it's not like major things are tied to spending actual money as a good amount of grinding in the game will get you what you need to better your driving.
Overall it's a great game and a must buy if you want to enjoy Crash Team Racing on the go. If that's not your priority then get the game for the PS4/XBOX ONE as they are graphically better and cheaper.
