An impressive fusion of classic kiwi styling and gore-tex waterproof performance makes this jacket the pick of the crop this season. the waterproof construction locks out rain, sleet and snow and still looks good on or off the trail.

I had never used Gore Tex before, and the real stuff like this is a revelation! I get warm very easily, so cheap 'waterproof' coats often got me soaked anyway through condensation building up inside. This on the other hand, is truly breathable. Even when I'm hot, I stay dry whether it's raining or not!
The hood and collar are perfect. It can be like a regular hood, or you can really tighten it around your head and the huge collar can wrap around your mouth.
I've walked hundreds of miles in it and it's still like new and keeping the rain off perfectly. Walking in this makes the experience so much better than using cheap coats. No more miserable wet walks!
I've also used it a few times while shooting. It really keeps the wind off and the main pockets will hold 25 cartridges each easily, and the seams are still intact.
The new jacket has a poorer specification zip, which can't be undone from the bottom. Not normally a problem, but if you want to get into your (Craghopper) trouser pockets in foul weather, then be careful of getting a wet chest. An additional internal pocket would be nice, but at this price the Goretex specification and assembly quality is unrivaled.
I am living in a very rainy, windy place- this exactly what I need. Umbrella is often useless here ( except GustBuster) -so the only thing can save you is a hood. Strongly recommended.
I then decided to up it and pour a 2litre bottle of water over my head and I still stayed dry.
Absolutely great purchase!
