The destruction of humans on a time scale as envisioned in this read could only come from the mind of Neal Asher. Awesome is a word I like to use on occasion but it not enough to encompass the skill and storytelling power of this author. I lived for this and his next offering.
The narrative of apocalyptic destruction as Polly travels back in time to pursue the nemesis Cowl is only one character of many pursuing generation spanning plots and twists to keep even the most jaded sci-fi fan on the edge of their seats page after page. A great read, though not for the faint hearted.
'In Cowl Neal Asher seems to be doing to the time-travel adventure what he has been doing to space opera and planetary romance: to pump it full of performance-enhancing substances and send it crashing through a gigantically expanded version of its traditional milieu, exploding the big sets and sending body parts flying in all directions.' Author: Locus
Cowl is a high-octane time travel adventure from Britain's new master of widescreen science fiction, Neal Asher.
