Product Description

Dana Waterfield’s well-organized life gets tipped upside down when the brutal murder of her twin sister Danielle threatens to unravel everything she’s worked so hard to achieve. Having found herself the sole guardian of her sister’s newborn lovechild, Jeremy, and at the receiving end of her ex-brother-in-law’s unchecked rage, Dana flees to the safety of Dixon Ranch and the strong, muscled arms of Brock Dixon. In order to protect the baby from the wrath of Danielle’s husband and murderer, Dana must assimilate into the daily routine of ranch life, and rethink who she really is. When the wrath of a madman threatens the life of her nephew and everything she holds dear, will Dana put her trust in Brock or let the winds of change tear her family apart?

Falling for her sister’s lover was never part of the plan, but there’s something about a cowboy that no woman can resist. After all, the safest place to be is in a cowboy’s arms…

Danielle and Brock had a short fling, which resulted in a pregnancy. Danielle wasn't able to enjoy her son Jeremy for long, because she was killed. Danielle was married to Derrick, an evil and dangerous man. She let him believe he's Jeremy's father to ensure their safety, but she wasn't able to get away from him on time. Derrick wasn't convicted for the murder, but he's a busy criminal and he did get caught for something else. When he's behind bars for a short time he transfers Jeremy's custody to Danielle's twin sister Dana. Finally Dana has the chance to do what she thinks is right.

Dana wants Jeremy to get to know his real father and she's determined to keep him away from Derrick. That's why she visits Brock at the Dixon Ranch, to introduce them to each other. Together they're trying to figure out where Dana, who's afraid of Derrick, can go and they hope they can find a way for Jeremy to stay with Brock. They quickly develop feelings for each other, but is that wise? Will Dana have a chance with the man who was treated unfairly by her sister?

Cowboy Sanctuary is a great romantic story. Danielle and Dana might look alike, but they are very different. Danielle likes an adventure, she's outgoing and she's fierce. Dana is more reserved, she's sweet and friendly and she has a wonderful kind personality. She's already lost a lot and she doesn't want to lose Jeremy as well, but she's willing to make sacrifices for his wellbeing, which I found incredibly brave. Brock is a real cowboy and likes working outside. He's good-looking and confident and he's amazing with horses. He's also protective and when he loves someone he does this with his whole heart.

Dana is focused on saving her nephew Jeremy. She seeks sanctuary in Brock Dixon’s ranch. The handsome cowboy with muscles in all the right places will have to rise to the occasion. But what woman can resist a big “Dix-on” cowboy?

Cowboy Sanctuary is a wonderful romance/suspense/cowboy story. The revolving first person worked great in the story. I liked living the story from both Dana and Brock’s points of view.

I liked this cowboy romance with its suspenseful twists.

When Dana finds Brock to tell him about his baby, he thinks she's Danielle. The woman he had one night with a year and a half earlier and stiffed him a breeding fee of $100,000. But Dana was Danielle's twin. Brock is madder than h#ll at Danielle for disappearing on him. He changed his tune when he found out she was dead and Dana believed Derrick, her husband, murdered her. Dana goes to Brock because she thinks the baby will be safer with his real father than with Derrick who she is worried will harm him.

This is a good story with lots of emotions - anger, love, lust, humor and has super characters. Brock is a sexy cowboy who is a world class horse trainer. His protectiveness for the little boy is endearing. I loved how strong and brave Dana was to take the baby without Derrick knowing and go to Brock. She had no idea what to expect when she told Brock that Jeremy was his but did it anyway.

I am so glad I won this book through Kindle Scout. It's a wonderful, sweet romance. You've got a cowboy and baby. What's not to love?

5.0 out of 5 stars A Literary Love Spell, Cast With The Skill of a Seasoned Rodeo Pickup Rider. 7 June 2017
By Steve Vernon, Kindle Press Author - Published on Amazon.com

I want you to picture yourself sitting by a roaring campfire. Can you see the crackling flames eating away at the firewood cradled in its fiery grasp? Can you see the aura of the flame's fervent incandescence dancing about your cheeks, forehead and chin? Push in a little closer. Can you feel the lambent heat radiating and steaming you up? Have you begun to sweat yet? Do you feel like unbuttoning your shirt and breathing in that smoky warmth?

Now you are getting the picture.

COWBOY SANCTUARY is a smoldering romance that will leave you panting in all of the right spots. The author, Michelle Hughes, manages to turn up the temperature on every page, without bothering to get tackily graphic.

I'd recommend this book for anyone looking to read themselves a sweet and yet powerfully hot cowboy romance. Michelle Hughes casts a literary love spell with the skill of a seasoned lariat-wielding rodeo pickup rider.

Yours in storytelling,

Steve Vernon

I'm not good at writing reviews. So I'm going to get straight to the point I really liked this book. I like that Dana was will to scarafice herself for her family. I absolutely love pigheaded alpha males like Brock. This book had everything I like in a book just hope Brock's brothers get a book of the own.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Sweet Love Story with Just Enough Suspense 19 January 2017
By Kalikat - Published on Amazon.com

I became a Michelle Hughes fan with the first book I read...the first book in the Fantasy's Bar and Grill series...and I'd finished the series in a couple of days reading practically nonstop. I have read several other books since and never been disappointed. This book is a different type of book from the usual but every bit as good. I wouldn't have thought of myself as a cowboy book fan. As with Fantasy's Bar and Grill, Michelle's talent as a story teller has taken me to new exciting places and situations.

Brock and Dana learn to trust themselves and each other. I was struck by how often we think we know someone...or ourselves...but life finds ways of showing us there is always so much more to learn. I enjoyed the journey Dana and Brock took because of the love each has for a baby who needs them. It was a pleasure to see two people who were not adversaries and did the best they could for "the little man". They were haunted by Dana's murdered twin sister's low life husband, Derrick, who believed the baby, Jeremy, was his. Dana had taken Jeremy to Brock, the baby's real father, because she feared what would happen to Jeremy if left with Derrick. Derrick proved he was not above using the baby to manipulate Dana, and then Brock.

Michelle Hughes writes about complex characters in interesting, we'll plotted stories. I especially loved Brock's large Dixon family who teased and fought, but gave each other unquestioning love and support when needed. I look forward to many more books about the Dixon family.
