True love trumps bad histories!Reviewed in the United States on 17 March 2012
I just finished this "old" book and I agree with the other reviewers: absolutely wonderful! You fall in love with everyone in this book, well, except the exfiance! I urge anyone who loves real men, real women, and real, adorable children, not to mention overly-helpful townsfolk who are adorable too, find this book and read it! The insecurities of both main characters are totally understandable, yet their dreams and wishes (not to mention the sexual chemistry) override all the bad experiences of their pasts. Jake and Maddy are SO GOOD for each other in many ways. And the way Maddy's relationship with her Dad got on a good footing was very real to me. I wish there had been an epilogue, it ended a bit abruptly for me because I just wasn't ready to say goodbye to these people yet.
A wordy storyReviewed in the United States on 20 June 2014
A good story, but could have been told in 75 pages. Way too much breast beating. We got it the first half dozen times, he's not good enough for her, but all is well in the end. Nice humor, good interaction with Annie. A nice read
Great bookReviewed in the United States on 15 September 2013
I laughed about her being caught on the fence. Then couldn't put the book down..... the bull charging. Another one of Marin's books, that I laughed, held my breath, cried, and just couldn't put down. A must read!!!
