Awesome-what a great book! This was my first cowboy romance and author Shirley Penick hit it so far out of the ballpark that I cannot imagine how the following books in the series will best it. However-I really don't care that much because I'm still going to read them to find out! I loved the working relationship & romantic chemistry between Alyssa & Beau and their interactions with each other and his family. The fact that I have also lived in their home states added a deeper connection to the story for me. Great writing-especially with the love scenes. I needed to read a new author who didn't use the same predictable words & descriptions in her love scenes-what a breath of fresh air!

Quick enjoyable read. Sometimes I’m in the mood for a light romance and this was just the ticket. I’m not usually much on contemporary romance novels. I usually read historical romance and contemporary generally has too much sex details for me (and I’ll admit it, this one did) but I “met” this author on twitter doing a wordsprint during NaNoWriMo and decided to give one of her books a try. I will probably read another one. I will say I enjoyed the characters and thought the ranching background was realistic. Hopefully, if I ever publish my novel one day, Shirley Pennick will read it. So there’s my brutally honest review! But I gave you four stars because the writing was good even though it’s not my favorite type of book.

The book was definitely interesting because it had a lot of good information regarding ways of using modern technology to keep accurate records for your stock . I felt there was way too much sensationalism regarding sexual scenes. I will try to remove this book from my library.

There were good characterizations and positive family situations in the story.
