Product Description

Michael was that guy.

The one that everyone was cautious of. Maybe it was the tattoos. Maybe it was the way he gave off a ‘don’t screw with me’ vibe. Maybe it was because he just told them to leave him the hell alone.

Regardless, people gave him his space.

He was screwed up, and everyone knew it.

He got tattoos because he liked the pain. He was standoffish. He didn’t have many friends outside of work. And the only thing he had going for him was that he was a good cop.

Everyone wondered about him, but no one asked.

The only one that didn’t treat him as if he was screwed up was Nikki Pena, a woman that he couldn’t have.

Nikki was that girl.

The one that everyone loved.

The one girl that he’d destroy if he let her have her way. What did she want?

Him.

But, he couldn’t give her him. She didn’t deserve what it would take to be with him.

So Michael would suffer in silence…or so he thought.

The woman who loved him had different ideas.

I absolutely loved this series! But this book had me laughing from start to finish. I loved Michael and Nikki's story and the struggles that they had to overcome together. I seriously admired Michael and how he handled the situations with Nikki. Michael, who suffers from ADD and Bi-Polar is seriously someone who I would most respect. Although you don't see much of his internal struggle in this book, you know that he does struggle and he overcomes it every day.

I seriously can't wait to see the SWAT guys show up in other books! Great ending to this series!

What can I say Lani Lynn Vale has released another sensational book. I loved getting to know both Nikki who we didn't know a great deal about and Michael who was always the quiet one, Nikki cracks me up she's so funny and knows how to push the buttons. I enjoyed the depth and interaction between the two main characters. I liked how weaknesses were shown in their personalities and also the interplay with previous book characters. It was a very good read

HASH(0xa8c28084) out of 5 stars Review From Abibliophobia Anonymous Book Reviews 5 November 2015

Review from Abibliophobia Anonymous Book Reviews

I absolutely love the KPD swat guys and all their books. I’m sad that this is the last one though. But it’s a great story. I’m so happy with how things worked out with Michael and Nikki. I just wish this series could keep going and going and going. But that’s my greediness coming out again.

I was shocked by what was happening in the book, not with Nikki and Michael, but with the “bad guy”.

I loved the parts about baby Nathan and with Madden and the other two babies. I love how things ended up for them. I was a little shocked with Madden’s story though. With who helped him out. My jaw may have dropped a little.

Lani Lynn Vale did a great job with portraying Michael’s issue, sorry don’t want to say what it is and go into detail and give anything away. How Michael handles it, is great. And when he tells Nikki, she doesn’t even blink over it.

I love Nikki’s smart mouth and how she doesn’t think before she acts all the time. I mean, who steals a cop’s truck? Nikki does that’s who. I was busting up laughing.

Just like in all the other books, there were little sayings and such at the beginning of each chapter and they had me rolling. I really look forward to reading those.

“I hate you. Not in an ‘I hope you die’ kind of way, but more like I hope you develop an allergy to chocolate and cheese kind of way.”

If you haven’t read this series, you really need to. I love them all!

HASH(0xa8c28588) out of 5 stars Best Code 11-KPD Swat book that I have read. 4 November 2015

5 Police Officers

This is the seventh book of this series, and the second one that I read. I really liked the first book that I read, but this one was so much better. I love how real Michael is. This character has real problems that affect so many people in real life. Depression, Bipolar, and ADD. I have cared for a young girl suffering from Depression who is also Bipolar. She is so smart, just like Michael, but when she doesn’t take her meds, things get crazy. Thank you Lani Lynn Vale for creating a character that shows us that people with mental illness can be a value to society.
Okay, enough with my public service announcement. This book was really good. I loved how the characters played off of each other and respected one another's boundaries. Alright sometimes those boundaries were pushed, but you know the reason for the pushing. The sex was hot and steamy. The comic relief was sometimes laugh out loud funny. Don’t embarrass yourself in a public place.Since this book and series is written about members of a S.W.A.T. team, you know that there is also going to be a murder or more to solve.

HASH(0xa8c288d0) out of 5 stars WORTH EVERY STAR PLUS MORE! 4 November 2015
By Gerianne Slavinsky/Southern Yankee Book Reviews - Published on Amazon.com
We were only given sneak peeks of Michael throughout the previous stories, but never really got to know him well. Our wishes have been granted and we get Michael's story! Nico's little sister, Nikki, has loved Michael since forever but always felt like it was one-sided so kept it to herself. Michael may have feelings for Nikki but he won't act on them because of a secret from his past that he has kept with him this whole time. They did have one chance at love, but Michael's brother put the end to that. Then there is Michael's ex who his mom still keeps around but that is because she doesn't know the reason Michael divorced her. Add in Michael's brother who is nothing like him and this adds more layers to an already super story. Michael and Nikki sure deserved this story and it doesn't disappoint. Nico and Nikki are a fantastic brother/sister combo and I loved their interactions. This may be the end of this series but it sure is going out with a bang! Fantastic!!!!

HASH(0xa8c282e8) out of 5 stars In the first chapter we learn the hero is not an evil hardcore Democrat like his parents 10 November 2015
By LolaTx - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Wow, the author really hates Democrats. In the first chapter we learn the hero is not an evil hardcore Democrat like his parents. Towards the end of the book, apparently an entire town is upset because two Democrats are in office in the "true Republican state" of Texas. I like her other books. I knew her political leanings. They were always inferred. But now her political beliefs are the central character and the hero/heroine are just the means to the end of sharing those beliefs with the world.

HASH(0xa8c282ac) out of 5 stars Think this will be my last 5 November 2015

Well I read this book in about 5 hours, it would have been 3 but I had a really hard time concentrating after the incorrect description of a medical procedure. But I normally love this author so I read on and only to be lambasted again by another of the authors political view points that didn't even have any relevance to the story. I read to be entertained if I was looking for political literature I would but my any book by Bill O'Reilly or Rachel Maddow. So even though I have every book this author has published I am afraid it will be my last.
